I hurried to the room that Jane was in, wanting to tell her something important. Mike was beside by side, "maybe we shouldn't tell her," he said uneasily.
"Maybe we should because it's something she needs to know, Mike. It's not something you keep from someone."
Mike then grabbed my arm and stopped me in the middle of the slow hallway. No much was happening here right now, everyone seemed relaxed. Maybe because this just the check-ups and flu shot station of the hospital. "But she also lost someone, Luke."
"Yeah someone that made her life hell. You haven't. You've helped her, she would want you in your life. To know."
"What if she doesn't wan to? She doesn't even know me."
"Jane isn't like that, Mike. She'll try her hardest." Mike sighed. "Come on, wouldn't you want her to know or be kept in the dark?"Five minutes later....
Michael's POV
We made arrived at Jane's room in the hospital, we had to wait a while for her to be able to see us again. My heat was going fast and I wasn't sure if I wanted to see her at this current moment.
But then the door opened, by Luke's hand to show Jane sitting on the bed texting on his phone.
He'd already been in there, to see if she's okay. I saw in the small window of the door, that they kissed once after Luke made her laugh.
"Go in," Luke told me softly and I sighed.
"What do I say?" Still looking how innocent she was, smiling at what ever she was looking at on Luke's phone.
"The truth." The truth? But the truth might break her, crush her, split her in two. Would she still be the same around me if I told her? Would she still talk to be like I helped save her? I seriously thought that I was taking away a really good friendship in the future... So I wasn't sure.
And then nodded at Luke, and stepped towards her, one foot in front of the other. When the shut behind me, I was alone and Jane's eyes looked from the phone to me. She smiled, placing down the phone, "hey Miley."
"Miley?" I questioned her.
"Luke told me you like Hannah Montana."
"You know her?"
"Yes I know her, I haven't been living under a rock, Mike." She laughed.
"No just a prison..."
"Mike-"
"No you listen, Jane." I snapped and she was set back in astonishment that I yelled at her. "Uh," I softened my voice. "I need to tell you something?"
She looked sad. She didn't want to know. She had enough on her mind, she didn't need I know this.
She probably thought it was stupid and unnecessary and I was making a big deal out of.
And then, there was fright also in her eyes like she's been punched yet again.
Like she thought finally she was safe and she wasn't anymore.
"Listen, Jane... I-----"Luke's POV
The hallway was quiet and so was Jane's room. I expect that she wasn't taking it lightly or that Mike hasn't even told her yet. All well, it was something she needed to know. "You're what?" I then heard a few minutes later. It was Jane, she was shouting. "No no no," I then heard. "No!"
"Jane..." I heard mikes voice. He sounded like he was crying.
"Stay away from me!"
I was about to get up and get in there to see what was going on, and then my phone rang. I sighed, wanting to ignore it and just go into the room, but it was Calum and it might be I important. So I answer it. "Hey, Cal. What's up?"
"Hello, is this, uh, Luke?" This wasn't a familiar voice. It certainly wasn't Calum. The voice sounded like it was panicked, sad... Like something had happened.
"Yes it is, how is this?" I tried to stay calm.
"This is Officer Rick Shards, I have been assigned to call someone close to the assigned. As you're the last person the assigned has called, I decided to call you first." There was a pause. "Are you close to the assigned?"
I guessed that 'the assigned', was Calum. "Yes." I hoped that he isn't in-trouble. "Fantastic."
But then it all went down hill from 'fantastic' after then. "I have found this phone next to an accident," he continued. There was pause. My stomach dropped. "There was two passengers in the car, and I'm afraid the assign--- I mean, Calum is unrecoverable from the crash."Jane's POV
"You're what?"
"I'm your brother..." Mike said with a quiet voice. His eyes were distant, looking at the floor, tears dripping on his white shirt. He couldn't be. He isn't look anything like me. There was no way now come I don't remember him? And all I remember is my brother? He couldn't be.
"No," I said and then that's all I could say. I was speechless. I didn't want to believe it. I wasn't going to believe it. "No no," I couldn't believe that the big bad brother that I had all my life... That I have tried all my life to love... That I've forgiven so much for, because he's my blood.... Isn't my brother. "No!"
I backed away from Mike. I couldn't be with him. I couldn't stand seeing him. He was lie. He's lying to me. I have a brother. He's not him. No. My brother is a criminal.
Mike took a few steps towards me.
"Stay away from me!"
He was looking at me now, "listen, Am---"
"What?"
"Uh uh."
"Why did you just say?"
"Amy... That's your real name."
"No it isn't! It's Jane!"
Mike was still calm still. "You were taken from us when you were young... Your mum... Your mum couldn't give birth... And your father, he wanted a kid." Then why did he leave us? "So my mum, she had a lot of friends, and she gave you to Susan. Your mum."
And then the door opened behind me, making me jump, "dude, what the fuck man?" I shouted. It was Luke. His eyes were red, teary. He was in pain. Like he's just been shot.
"M-m-Mike..." He was breaking down. "It's... It's Ca-ca-Calum...."....
