"Ruby!" i hear a voice yell into my room. i jump out of my sleep and sit up in my bed.
"what?" i say rubbing my eyes trying to wake myself up.
" you have school in 1 hour" i hear a womanly voice say.
i rub my eyes and look at the blurry figure and let my eyes agjust to the light. as they adjust i see my mum standing in the doorframe looking at me as if i'm stupid.
" alright i'm getting up" i say slowing sliding out of bed
" okay" she says closing the door behind her.
i walk into my closet and get out this outfit-

"good enough" i say looking into the mirror at my outfit.
i walk to may vanity on the other side of my room. i sit down on to the stool and grab my brush. i brush through my long blonde hair and decide to just leave my natural waves, put on mascara and highlight. i stand up and walk over to my desk and grab my phone off the desk. i walk out of my room and into the kitchen
" look who is finally awake" my older sister Mia says as she butters her toast.
" good morning to you too" i say sitting on a stool at the kitchen counter.
" morning girls" mum says walking into the kitchen and turning the coffee machine on.
" do i have to go to school" i say resting my chin my my palm.
my mum turns around and looks at me sternly.
"yes, ruby it is your first day of junior year, you have to go." my mum says putting her hands on her hips.
i groan
" junior year isn't that bad" Mia says biting into a piece of her toast.
" you're lucky, you are in senior year" i say
" you will enjoy this year ruby, it's when all the romance starts" Mia says winking at me.
" Mia, do you know me? i'm a literal nobody at school" i say with a fake laugh
" don't say that" mum says sipping her coffee
i look at mum and give her the eyebrow. " i am a nobody"
" well try not to be a nobody this year, make friends" Mia says putting her plate in the kitchen sink.
" i have friends!" i say defending myself
" yeah i know just maybe new ones, like Aubrey?" Mia says leaning again the counter.
" Aubrey, you mean the popular Aubrey?" i say looking at her hoping she is joking
"yes, she so nice" Mia says nodding her head.
" to you maybe! she's a bitch to me!" i say to Mia
