after Ethan i's encounter with Tessa we walked to school and went to our classes, i couldn't wait for cheer tryouts but i'm so nervous i will mess up.

" Mia!" i say as i see her on the field.
" oh my gosh hi!" Mia says embracing me in a hug.
i laugh and hug her back.
" you look so cute!!" Mia says smiling.
" awe thank you!" i say looking at my 'cheer tryout outfit'.
" alright girls, lets get started!" i hear a girl say.
i turn around and see aubrey sitting at a desk with an empty seat next to her.
" good luck rubes" Mia whispers to me then walks to the desk and sits in the empty seat.
" as i have a list of your names i just need to get to know everyones face" aubrey says holding a clipboard.
aubrey calls out some random names then she says mine.
" oh, ruby? i didn't know you were trying out?" aubrey says with a smirk planted on her face
" yeah, just trying something different" i say slightly smiling
she smiles to herself and says " that's fine"
i sigh and look at Mia but she gives me a reassuring smile, i smile back at her and we start to get into try outs.
i didn't struggle with the choreography, although Mia put me at the back at the start because she obviously thought i was horrible but she switches it up so i'm right at the front.
" alright girls that wasn't half bad" aubrey says smiling and smirks at me.
Mia steps up and says " lets get into flipping". i smile to myself because i know they will be impressed, not to sound cocky.
we set up a mat on the floor which is pretty long so i think they expecting are expecting a punch of flips and tricks.
aubrey calls out names randomly and we have to show her what we can do.
she calls out 2 names then mine
" ruby, you're up" aubrey says putting the clipboard on the desk where her and Mia sit.
i shake my hands out and go further back for a run up,
" oh, get ready girls she doing a run up" Mia says giggling to herself.
i stand in position and get ready to go, i run forward and do a roundoff landing on the mat, as soon as my feet hit the mat i do a backhand spring, as i finish that back hand spring i do a buck tuck and finish it with a full.
as i land on my feet i look over and see everyone speechless but see Mia smiling widely at me, aubrey comes back to reality and whispers something to Mia which makes her smile.
" that wa impressive ruby, you may sit down now." aubrey says smiling at me
wow, a really smile
i smile and walk back to my seat.

as everyone is leaving tryouts and going to the locker rooms i see aubrey and mia come up to me.
" ruby?" i hear Mia say.
i turn around and put my bag over my shoulder as i was about to walk out of the field to the locker rooms.
" we aren't supposed to tell you this but your sister can't keep this secret from you" aubrey says
i look at Mia and see she is trying to hold back a smile.
" alright Mia you can say it" aubrey says with a laugh
" ruby you made it on the team!!!" Mia says jumping up and down
" really!" i says smiling
" you were really good ruby, and theres one for thing" aubrey says and looks over at mia
" you're a flyer!" Mia says sounding excited
"Woah really?!" i say smiling
of what Mia has told me about flyers and how hard it is to make it as a flyer for our school, the only flyer in the team was aubrey but i guess i'm joining her.
" yes really, but don't tell anyone we told you early until tomorrow when the list goes up" aubrey says smiling
" can i tell Ethan?" i say looking at Mia
" can she? they are really close" Mia says looking at aubrey
" okay but tell him not to tell anyone yet" aubrey says then walks away with Mia by her side.
i smile and walk back to the locker room and get changed.

" may i ask why you are late ms Wolf?" my science teacher says as i walk in the door about 2 minutes late.
" tryouts" i say walking to my seat next to Ethan.
" hey baby girl" Ethan whispers to me
" hey Eth" i say with a smile
'baby girl' i like that
after 5 minutes our science teacher leaves the class to get something from the office and leaves the room.
" that was a dumb decision" Ethan says as the teacher leaves the room.
" i know" i say with a laugh
" anyways how was tryouts" Ethan says gripping my thigh under the table.
" well i got told that i'm already in and that i'm the second flyer, but you can't tell anyone until tomorrow" i say smiling at him
" that's my girl" Ethan says smiling at me
i smile at his comment
" there a party tonight at one of my friends houses, come with me?" Ethan says
" mmmm" i say thinking
" to celebrate" Ethan says smiling at me
" i can't resist that smile, sure" i say with a smile.
" i'll pick you up at 9" Ethan says smiling at me.
" sounds good" i say as the teacher walks back into the room.
