" hey mum what's up" i say walking into the kitchen.
" nothing how was school" mum asks looking at me.
" umm well heres the thing i-" i say but get cut off by Mia saying
" she was with me all day, because Tessa is a bitch right rubes?" Mia says looking at me.
i smile at her and say " yeah"
she mouths to me ' you're welcome'
" anyways mum why did you need me home urgently?" i say looking at mum.
" i was worried because Mia got home but you weren't" mum says
" yeah i just went for a walk on the beach to clear my head" i say smiling.
" so you and Tessa aren't good now?" mum says opening the cabinets looking for something.
" i don't know, she got mad at me over nothing" i say rolling my eyes.
" 7 years of friend ship down the drain?" mum says looking at me in concern.
" i guess so but now i have no one and she has no one" i say
" well you can make new friends" Mia says sitting in a stool
" like aubrey" Mia says looking at me.
" she's popular i'm not, she pretty i'm-" i say but then Mia cuts me off by saying
" you are pretty, look try out for cheerleading tomorrow. then we can be on the squad together and i can help you make friends." Mia says
" she won't let me on the team" i say looking at mia
" she will since you can flip" Mia says
i used to be a gymnast but i gave it up because dad left and he was my inspiration, but even though i don't do gymnastics anymore i can still do tricks.
" i don't know Mia, i don't want to become a girly cheerleader who only cares about boys" i say getting a glass of water.
" i find that offensive" Mia says sarcastically.
i roll my eyes and laugh, " you know what i mean and who i mean" i say taking a sip of my water.
"just try out okay?" Mia say looking at me seriously
i sigh " fine, but if i don't get in and make a fool of myself i'm telling everyone you forced me" i say with a laugh
" you will get in" Mia says walking past me into her bedroom.

" how'd you go with your mum?" Ethan says through the phone.
" she doesn't know, Mia covered for me" i say back
" i had fun today" Ethan say through the phone making me smile to myself.
" so did i" i say back
he quietly laughs
" anyways i'm trying out to be a cheerleader tomorrow" i say
" really?" Ethan says sounding surprised
" Woah it's not that surprising" i9 say back with a laugh
" no i don't mean that i mean like don't you and aubrey hate Each other?" Ethan says
" well she isn't to fond of me and i'm not to fond of her but my sister thinks that i will make friends if i'm on the squad" i say sitting on my bed.
" well we will be the high school couple, football captain and cheerleader" Ethan says with a laugh
" hmm are we a couple now?" i say smiling to myself
" lets hope soon" Ethan says.
i hear a knock on my door, i turn around and see Mia.
" i'll call you back, bye " i say into the phone.
" bye cutie" ethan says then i hang up.
" whats up butter cup?" i say looking at Mia.
" Grayson is at the door" Mia says grinning
i roll my eyes " of course he is" i stand up and walk past Mia to the front door and see Grayson standing there.
" hey gray whats up?" i say with a smile
" can we go on a walk for a second i need to talk to you about something" Grayson says looking into my eyes
"of course" i say to him. i turn around and look at mia
" i'll be back" i say blowing her a kiss sarcastically, she laughs and i walk out the front door with Grayson.
as we walk along the foot path it is quiet between us until Grayson speaks
" i wanted to talk to you about Tessa" Grayson says looking down as we walk.
" okay, me and her aren't good at the moment but shot" i say smiling at him.
" Ethan told me that she is interested but i'm not really interested in her" Grayson says then grits his teeth.
" okay that's fine" i say smiling at him
"i don't want to break her heart so what do i do?" Grayson says
" look, she doesn't know that i told Ethan anything, it's like our secret basically. you don't have to say anything to her." i say to him.
" but the girl that i am interested in thinks we are just friends but i want to be more but a boy i know is in the way" grayson says looking at me.
" well maybe try and hang out with her more and make her have fun around you and let her see the fun, amazing person i know you are." i say smiling at him
he smiles to himself
"okay" he says smiling.
as i look around it looks like =we have walked the block and i'm back at my house.
" did you walk her or drive her?" i say looking around for his car.
" i walked, it clears my head" Grayson says
" okay well do you want me to drive you home?" i say looking at him.
" no it's alright i only live a few streets away" Grayson says smiling at me
" well i'll see you tomorrow" i say then i start walk to walk inside
"ruby?" i hear Grayson say, i turn around and smile
" yeah gray?" i say
" thank you" he says then walks off. i smile and walk inside,
as soon as i get in i see ruby pacing through the halls of our house.
" you okay Mia?" i say closing the door.
" yeah just when i saw Grayson i was surprised i don't know i think i messed up, did he say anything, oh no no no" Mia says really fast that i can't understand her
" Woah Woah Woah Mia calm down he didn't say anything" i say
she stops pacing and breathes in " okay, well um i'm going to sleep now so goodnight" she says then walks into her room.
i quietly ;laugh and walk into my room.
