22 - Senior Year

Taehyung's POV-

I was picked up by my parents early morning.

The air was freezing.

I feel like there's a huge hole in my chest. I'm leaving Seoul and Mimi behind again..

I'm going to miss it so much but I can't go against my parent's words.

I'm turning 18 soon.. Why can't they just let me live here.. I didn't feel like having a conversation with them so I put my earphones in and just stared out the window and then dad suddenly stopped the car.

Mr.Kim: Isn't that Kim Taerin?

I turned around and saw Mimi panting behind the car.

I immediately went out and ran to her.

Taehyung: You.. What are you doing??

Mimi: I.. I... was almost too late.

She was catching her breath.

She wrapped a muffler around my neck.

Mimi: Here.. I heard Daegu is extra cold.

Taehyung: You didn't have to...

Mimi: Go now. They are waiting for you..

I went back towards the car but I just can't let her go like that I ran back towards her and gave her a hug.

I am going to miss her scent and her warmth.

Taehyung: Hey Mimi.. I guess I'm too late to be your first.. But can I be your last?

With tears in her eyes, she looked up at me and nodded.

I took her hands and put them around my neck and then grabbed her by the waist...

This is the moment I have been waiting for so long..

I leaned in and kissed her.

She kissed me back too.

I finally kissed the girl of my dreams and my first love...

The one I've think about for my whole life. I never wanted to let her go. She didn't either.

Taehyung: I promise to call you all the time, okay?

Mimi: Come back soon.

Taehyung: See you soon.

Mimi's POV-

Winter vacation went by in the blink of an eye and before we knew it, we were already seniors.

School was okay but it was empty without Tae being around.

He moved to the States again as he does not really fit in Daegu.

We skype most of the times but the time zone was not being kind to us.

Titina and Namjoon were finally official but Namjoon accidentally broke one of Titina's favourite pencil which led them to have a huge fight.

But they're okay now.

Hilda and Jimin were still being in love like they always were. I've never seen such compatible couples.

Jungkook and I still hang out all the time but just as friends.

He met someone from our juniors and he has been going out with her.

They look extremely cute together.

*Taehyung calling*

Mimi: Hey Tae..

Taehyung: What's up?

Mimi: I'm about to sleep.. I just finished my assignment.

Taehyung: I'm just about to head to class.

Mimi: I see.. Have fun then.

Taehyung: Call me when you wake up?

Mimi: Mmm.. I will.

Senior year was not going easy on us.

Our world revolved around our textbooks and it was so tiring. I have got lots of mood swings all the time and my relationship with Taehyung was going downhill.

I was tired, he was tired and we kept on fighting over small matters.
Even though we would make up eventually, we started talking less..

Finals were on its way and college applications were giving me a headache.

Then the calls stopped coming and I didn't care to call him either as I have to study very hard and I cannot have any distractions.

Months after we stopped talking I was so stressed out with everything so I went out at night to have ice cream with Hilda.

Hilda: I really hope we get into the same college.. It has been our dream.

Mimi: Yeah.. I've been working hard on it. Did you give up on the civil service exam?

Hilda: Mm.. I'm not that interested anyway.. Besides going to college at another state is something I want to experience. And if we both get in, we'll be roommates. That's all I want for now.

Mimi: Yeah.. Me too. How are things with Jimin?

Hilda: He doesn't like the idea of me moving away if I got in.. But.. It'll be fine.. What about Tae?

Mimi: Haven't heard from him in months.

Hilda: Oh no.. Really??

Mimi: I'm just too tired and stressed out to be dealing with him or anything right now.. Maybe we're breaking up for real this time..

Hilda: It can't be.. Don't you.. Miss him?

Mimi: I do.. But.. You know.. I'm tired. That's all.

Hilda: Yeah.. The pressure is unbearable.

We went home and I was lying awake on my bed, thinking about how things went wrong so fast again with Tae. I really thought we could work it out this time but I guess I was wrong. I miss him but I already gave up on us. I guess he did too...
