Chapter 2

Maria

"Maria, Maria, MARIA!" It was Mia, I'm not sure how long she'd been trying to get my attention but she was pissed. "Huh, did you call me?" "No shit Sherlock." "Well, what do you want?" "Do you not remember what's going on tonight?" "Am I supposed to?" She face palmed, "Ugh, never mind then." A light suddenly went off in my head, today was Daniel's party. Today was the last day of school after this is winter break. Daniel was celebrating "freedom" as he called it. "Wait, isn't today Daniel's party?" She smiled,"Of course, how could you forget your own boyfriend's party?" I sighed, she was right, how could I forget my own boyfriend's party. Wait.....I know how. Let's blame Nat Wolff for that.

Nat

I hear them talking about the party that's going on at Daniel Cuevas' house as I walk towards my best friend Jack."Dude, self harder are you going?" "Going where?" He laughed, "Where do you think, Daniel's party." I sighed, Jack was too much of an idiot to understand that nobody wants to hang out ith a  self-harmer and his gay best friend. "Jack the only reason you wanna go is because you think Daniel is hot." I rolled my eyes. "I just wish that skank girlfriend of his Maria would get out of the picture." "Come on man dont talk about her like that, shes a cool girl." I said. Maria Ambriz, the name made me feel a warmth inside, but I would push it down. Shes with Daniel, I'm no Daniel.

*lunch time

Maria

I went with Mia to get our lunch when i felt someone put their hands over my eyes, Mia laughed. "Ummmmm, who is this?" "Try guessing." asked Mia. "Its Daniel." He laughed as we got our lunches and sat on a chair not to far from him. We ate our lunches quietly until Daniel said, "Babe, you can invite who ever you want to this party." Once he said that, my eyes immediately went to Nat. Him, I was inviting him. I nodded, "Ok, thanks" "I'm gonna keep spreading the word, see you around." He kissed my forehead as he got up and left. I nudged Mia, "Come on." "Where are we going," she gave me a confused look. "We're inviting people to tonight's party." I stood up and began to walk towards him.

Nat

Jack looked scared, "She's coming!" I half smiled and said, "Maybe she heard that you called her a skank and now she's coming to fight you." My comment seemed to make things worse for him and add on to his fear. "Oh my god,y ou think so?" I smiled, "It could be," I said as a stuck a fry in my mouth in amusement. I hear her voice, soft and sweet as she says, "Nat, right?" She knew my name. No shit Nat, she only sits next to you in like 2 classes. "Yeah, what's up?" She smiled, "So a bunch of us are having a party tonight and I was wandering if you would want to come?" I opened my mouth to say something, which was interrupted  by Jack. "WE"D LOVE TO COME!" he yelled. I laughed a bit,"What my friend here is trying to say is that we'll try to stop by," my voice being deeper than intended. Did I deepen my voice for her? She lit up with a big beautiful smile,"Great! 8:00, be there." As she walked off I looked at Jack, "Jack, looks like we're going to a party tonight."

Maria

"Maria, are you crazy?" I gave her a confused look, "What are you talking about?" She sighed, "Daniel's not gonna like you inviting him to the party." "You're overreacting." Nat had said he would come, and tonight I might finally find out who he really is behind the mysterious attitude. The bell rang and we headed to class, tonight would be the night.
