Natalia
Keeping his word Lukas came to pick me up in exactly fifteen minutes.
I told him to text me as soon as he got here and he followed.
The car ride back to his house was deadly silent, apart from the low tunes from the radio in the background everything gave me some time to thing. I guess in a way it was calming.
I did notice that every once in a while that I would glance over to my brother he would shift uncomfortably, sort of like he was hiding something, but I didn't bother to ask because one, I have a million things running through my mind right now and two if it's really important he will tell me in time.
He drove into the garage of his adorable, decent sized two story house and parked.
I took off my seat belt and turned over to him.
"What?" He faced me.
"I haven't been over to your house, so, I don't really know what or where things are..." I gestured towards the house.
A smirk slowly crept onto his face. "What?" I questioned this time.
"Well, not little Miss Know It All any more are we?" He asked smugly.
He chuckled softly when he saw the scowl on my face but showed me around the house. We ended up sitting in the kitchen, me on one side of the breakfast bar and Lukas leaning on the counter opposite me.
"So are you going to tell me what the hell that phone call was about?" He raised an eyebrow.
"Yeah I guess I am..." I took a deep breath and looked away.
"Wow. This really is serious, Natalia what happened?" He looked me dead in the eye.
"Not that serious, really." I looked away.
"Natalia, I know when your lying." He leaned in closer.
"Luke really it was nothing, I wasen't thinking. But don't worry, really, my life is better now." I rushed out.
"What does that mean?"
"I agree with you Luke, that's what I mean." I turned to look at him again.
He looked taken aback "I don't know if i'm ever going to hear that coming from you again"
"Look Nat, your always right, so just go with what your gut says" He continued.
I shook my head. "That's the thing Luke, I don't want to be right all the time. Sometime I wish that the things I believe are wrong, because being right means that, I can't trust any guys anymore, and I will always expect the worse from them, and my self and everyone. And the worst about all this is that, because I know all of this, it makes me prepared, so when something happens, I don't react and keep it all in, or I do something stupid."
He moved from across the counter to the seat next to me, he took hold of my hand and moved me so i would be facing him.
"Natalia, i'm only saying this once, so listen close, because this is never going to be repeated. You know i'm not with mom and dad here about the whole arrangement, but you should let him explain. Know the whole story, even if you think it's going to hurt you, just listen to him before you make any sort of drastic decision." He told me softly.
"I'm not hurt Lukas."
"Yes you are, because if you wern't you wouldn't be here opening up to me right now Nat, you would still be at school going through your day completely unaffected."
Is he right? Am I hurt? I can't be, really. I knew this was going to happen. There's no way one person I barely know can affect me as much as Lukas has told me, no way.
