As I carried on walking, it started to rain, lightly at first but it gradually got heavier, god, just my luck. I really had no idea where I was, It was just street after street after street. They all looked the god damn same! I Think it was quite a posh area, all white washed houses and old styled roofs. Nothing like me and mums little cosy apartment. No, can't think about her, she was the one who put me in this situation, I wonder if she's even slightly concerned about me, there's all sorts of crazies on the streets these days!
The rain turned to hail, I just stood there and cried. Why was this happening to me?! I had no where to stay, I had nothing. I put my hand in my pocket and felt the wad of £500 mum had gave me. I suddenly felt angry, how dare she. I didn't need her, I didn't need her money, I didn't need anyone. I took the money and threw it into the river I had some how ended up near. I watched it fly through the air as some of the notes came loose. As I watched it sink down into the depth of the murky water I felt some what satisfied. I didn't need anyone or anything. Well I maybe needed my Ipod, but that was it.
The hail got heavier and heavier as I took cover under a massive leafy oak tree. I watched the hail bounce off the sidewalk and realised how selfish and spiteful I am. Why did I throw that money? What am I meant to do now? I actually have nothing. Why did I have to go and get drunk and scare my mum like that? Why isn't my dad here? Why did he have to go? A part of me wanted to go home and make things better with my mum, but my stubborn side just wasn't having it.
I slid my back down the bark of the oak tree until my bum touched the small dry patch, I put my hood up and leaned my body back against the massive trunk, and just cried. I think at some point I must have drifted off, because I was woken up my someone gently poking me in the ribs.
I shot up.
"Oh god, sorry I have to go!"
"No no, wait a sec.." The stranger sounded kind of desperate, he was tall and skinny and I could see a little bit of his fringe peaking out his hood. He also had a strong American accent, which I slightly recognised.
"What are you doing out here? You're soaked and you must be freezing, you'll catch your death!"
"N-no i'm fine honestly, sorry I'm in a rush!" I had a funny feeling about this stranger.
"You didn't look in much of a rush when you were sleeping under the tree.."
"Look, I'm fine okay!" I sounded alot more off than I meant to, this didn't phase him though.
"Bullshit! Your parents kick you out?"
I paused and looked up at him carefully.
"How'd you know?" I whispered
"The 3 bags you're lugging with you kinda give it away."
I giggled, it wasn't even funny, I think the cold was getting to me.
"Look, come with me? You can crash at mine for a bit?" He sounded nervous, like he knew how this could go horribly wrong.
I hesitated, I can't just get into a car with a stranger, place to go or no place to go. I wasn't completely stupid. He noticed my hesitation and I saw him smile briefly from under his hood.
"Here look at this" he said and quickly looked around him to check no one was near by. Then he took his hood down and smiled that cheeky smile I know oh so well.
"Oh my fucking god it's you!" I was practically screaming.
"Yeah I get that a lot" He winked.
"Oh my fucking god." I was in a state of shock.
"Are we just gonna stand in this rain, or should we get in the car?"
"Oh my fucking god." He laughed and grabbed my hand.
"To the car it is!" And he dragged me to the car and put me in the passenger seat.
As I sat there, I slowly recovered from my shock. I was sitting in a car with Jack Barakat. THE Jack Barakat.
"I'm so sorry for freaking out back there, but you're like my whole life, your music saved my life, this is like a massive honour." I said in a hurry.
"Aw, you have no idea how it means for you to say that, I'm glad me and they boys are doing some good!"
I giggled, as we drove the cold started kick into my bone, and I was shivering madly. Jack looked over at me.
"You're still in those wet clothes, I'll pull over at the next service station and get you some of my clothes out the boot."
I smiled gratefully, I couldn't get my mouth to move properly.
10 minutes later we pulled into a service station, Jack got out and went to the back of his car, he was back about a minute and a half later with a pair of glamour kills trakkie bottoms & top with a JAGK hoodie.
"Here put these on while I got get us a hot chocolate, they might be a bit on the big side, but better than nothing right?" He smiled.
"Right" I grinned. "Thankyou so much Jack!"
"Anytime man. By the way, I forgot to get your name?"
"Oh, It's Kayleigh.. & I already know yours!"
"ahah, well, I hope we become good friends Kayleigh!" He winked at me and went to get the drinks.
I changed quickly and relaxed back into the soft leather seat, maybe everything was going to be okay after all.
