Alex POV

Everyone in camp was supposed to be asleep, so like the genius' we are we decided to go to the bar.

When we got back we tried to sneak by Washington's tent only to realize, he wasn't in it. That's when we heard a crack of a branch behind us and hid behind a nearby bush.

We saw George carrying a girl in his arms. She looked like she was hurt. He went straight inside the tent and started muttering 'stay awake' over and over, almost as if he didn't even know he was saying it.

We snuck around back to see him place her on one of the two beds in there. He lit a candle to reveal a woman covered in... soot!

Could this be The Asher? The legend?

We saw him put a ball of cloth in her mouth and pull out the knife that was in her side. He poured liquor over it all, then stitched it up. I expected screams, or at least a yelp, but all she did was whimper once. Only once.

George grabbed bandages and tore off the bottom parts of her pants so he could clearly access the burn wound she had and wrap it. He then tore off the bottom half of her shirt, so he could wrap the knife wound to.

Ash POV

I woke up to see a sleeping George on the ground next to my bed. He looked adorable. I tried to sit up so that I could get a better view of his adorable face. That's when the searing pain hit me all at once. I yelped.

"Ash? Ash! Are you ok? Don't move! Why do you have to be so reckless? Do you know what this means?" He said so quickly I hardly understood.

"I'm fine. It wasn't that reckless. And... um.... paperwork for a month?"

"Yes Ash. It was that reckless." He whispered pulling me into a small hug, being careful of my cut.

"So, how long?" I asked knowing I'd be on paperwork duty for a while. It was worse than last time.

"Actually, any other troops are out of my range. Technically I can't send you to any more camps without breaking the rules." I could tell he was trying to sound sad. He knew how much I loved it. He was also failing. I could always tell how George felt about something. When he lied he got all red faced. It was really cute, actually. So at this moment, I could tell that he was ecstatic I wasn't going back.

"Don't sound so happy."

"I'm not sorry. I don't know what I'd do if I lost you." He whispered.

"Don't worry. I'm here now."
