"Please come with me." I begged Jill, amy and Anna.
"How could I even say no? I mean it's Harrison, yum." Jill grinned chewing on the back of her pen. I held back the urge to roll my eyes at her. I was actually surprised she even said that.
"I didn't think you had an interest in Mr. Harrison." I frowned.
"Wouldn't you like to know?" She smirked.
My cheeks heated a little.
"I was just curious but no I'm not that interested." I tried to push away the accusations.
"I'll pick you up?" Jill asked.
"Could I just come straight from work with you?"
"Yeah sure, do you girls want to too?" Both nodded.
"I won't have anything to wear though" I mumbled. But Jill was quick to speak.
"I'll dress you! I'll give you like a mini makeover."
"Okay."
"What time did he say?"
"Hm?" I glanced up at Anna.
"What time did Mr. Harrison say we should meet."
"Oh um I don't know."
I walked quickly back to his office to see he was already gone. I groaned in failure.
The one piece of information I needed.
I sat down at my desk and started to read my booklets. Maybe this was a sign. I didn't know the time because I shouldn't go. I should be at home with my husband like I promised him. And imagining the punishment for my actions was terrifying. I set the booklet down and opened my computer. On the middle of my computer there posted to my screen was the sentence, '8 pm. I'm counting on you being there.' A smile spread across my face and I sighed. I shouldn't go.
.
"Awe Amanda, you look gorgeous." Jill grinned. I glanced at my outfit in the mirror. I would say it was casual. But not too casual. I wore my black skinny jeans with a deep necklined red long sleeve shirt. Red was always my colour but I felt it was too much.
Jill wore a black see threw shirt that completely showed her bra. I was fine.
We walked into the bar to hear the music playing and people walking around. It was still early though.
"There he Is." Amy said as she lead the way through the people.
Nerves were nipping at my ankles from the thought of mark. He's going to be so mad.
Alex was companied with two men. He wore a dark brown leather jacket, black shirt and dark blue jeans. A casual look that I liked him in.
"Hey Amanda." He grinned. Using my first name for once. It didn't feel weird or forced coming from him.
"Hi." I mumbled back, even though the music was overpowering my quiet voice.
"This Is Jack and Brandon." He motioned to the two other guys. Jack had dark black hair with a few pieces that fell into his eyes effortlessly, he had almond monolid dark brown eyes and was the shortest in the group. Not by much in any means. And Brandon was middle height, short brown thick hair that looked buzzed from a month or two ago. He had brown eyes and a beard was also buzzed but evenly cutting his cheekbones and jawline nicely. Jack wore a dark blue shirt and black jeans rolled up a bit to show his boots. Brandon wore his work clothes I assumed. A dark grey button up and dress pants.
"I'm Amanda ." I smiled politely to the two men.
"Nice to meet you." Brandon gave a white smile.
Alex rolled his eyes at him but added a small smirk to lessen his annoyance. Jill glanced at me with a look and then towards Alex.
"Alex, do you want to go grab a drink?" She smirked.
He seemed a little taken aback by the use of his first name. I don't think he liked it.
"Yeah of course." He said following after her towards the bar.
I rolled my eyes at Jill.
"Is everything alright?" I glanced up to Brandon who had asked the question.
"Yeah, she's just being... Jill." I shrugged.
"I'm going to go get a drink does anyone want to come?" Anna asked. Amy followed with Jack quick after. He shot a wink at Brandon.
I slid into the booth with Brandon. My eyes kept staring into the back of Alex's head, why did he go over there with her.
"You're very pretty." Brandon said with a grin.
"Thank you." I mumbled busy trying to pry into Alex and Jill conversation.
"Here I'll go grab us some drinks I'll be back." Brandon said and slid out of the booth.
He came back with two glasses and two shots.
"What are these?" I asked out of curiosity. Mark hated alcohol and he never wanted me to drink it. I've tried it in highschool but I've never been a fan.
"These and rum and coke. And these are just vodka. I thought we'd start off simple." I smiled at his thoughtfulness.
I brought the rum and coke glass to my lips, drawing a small sip and made a face at the strong taste. That made Brandon laugh,
"Really? This one isn't even bad." He grinned.
He handed me the shot with his still on the table.
"Take this one like your taking cough medicine. It's not a good taste but you'll feel it fast."
I chewed on my lip.
"You sure?"
"Yeah." He chuckled.
I swallowed the vodka with a face of disgust.
"Ahh!" I cried out softly Brandon quickly handed me the rum and coke and I gulped it to get rid of the taste of vodka.
"See now what do you think of the rum?" He grinned. I giggled,
"Your technique is smart."
I glanced back at Alex who caught my eye. Just a short second and he went back to talking to Jill.
"Just ignore him Amanda." Brandon said as his hand rubbed my thigh. I pulled away a little but reassured myself he was just trying to make me feel better.
"Your gorgeous." He said his voice becoming quieter.
"Thank you." His hand was back on my thigh and I felt a little rigid.
"I think you might be getting the wrong idea, Brandon." I glanced up at him. His hand was around my waist now, pulling me closer to him.
"Really?" He said with a smirk.
"Y-yeah." I mumbled. He kissed my neck lightly.
"Are you sure?"
"Um yeah?" I said quietly.
He pulled me onto his lap his lips still on my neck. I struggled to pull away.
"Cmon just let me go." I said quietly.
"I can barely hear you." He mumbled against my neck.
"You heard her." Alex said. He stood there with Jill behind him. I tried to pull away from Brandon but he held on tightly.
"Brandon. Stop it she said no." He glared at Brandon.
Brandon rolled his eyes and dropped his hands around me.
He stood up and walked towards Alex.
"Dude what the hell?" He pushed at Alex's chest.
Alex ignored him and took Brandon's vodka shot he swallowed it without any expression on his face.
"She didn't want to have sex or do anything with you." Alex said making Brandon glare.
"What's gotten into you bud? Is it her? Why are you so protective over her! Do you have a little crush or something?"
Alex glanced at me, his face expressionless since the moment he walked up.
"Your right Brandon. Do whatever you want." He turned and started to walk back to the bar. I gasped with a frown and took off after him.
"What the hell!" I yelled at Alex. He turned around and glanced at me with a questioning look.
"What?"
"'Do whatever you want'? Did you want him to rape me?!"
"He wasn't going to rape you." Alex rolled his eyes and he ordered from the bar.
I was close to tears from my home life.
"You don't know that." My lip trembled which he noticed.
"Amanda you've gotta stand up for yourself. You weren't clear enough with him. And I knew he wasn't going to do anything because I wasn't going to let him. I was watching you guys the whole time. I came over when I saw the look on your face."
"I did stand up for myself."
"No you didn't."
"Here." Alex said,
"Slap me across the face and yell no chance." Alex said with a grin.
"I'm not going to slap you." I stared at him.
"Well it's basically as straight forward as it gets. Or knee them in the balls- not me." He said quickly making me chuckle.
He smirked and turned to the bartender.
"Could you just pour me a glass of tap water?"
The man nodded handing him a 12 oz glass of water.
"Dump this on me and yell no chance." He said with a grin.
"No-" my voice was cut off when Alex pulled me into him.
"How mad would you be if I grabbed your ass right now."
"I'd be ma-"
Alex's hand cupped my butt giving it a squeeze that made me jump at his confidence.
I grabbed the glass and splashed the water over his face,
"Get away from me!" I yelled and stormed away I was honestly mad but I would have never had the courage to do that if he hadn't talked me into it. As I made my way back to the booth I glanced back at the attention in the bar that was directed to Alex who had a proud grin spread across his soaked face.
I slid into the booth beside Jill who stared at me with a raised eyebrow.
"You know that's our boss right?"
I shrugged at the group who stared at me as if I had just sinned.
"That was harsh." Brandon said with a grin.
"But hilarious." Jack added.
Alex came back with a Mikey of vodka and stacked shot glasses. His shirt was wet as well as his hair that dripped in front of his face.
"Time to drink." He grinned.
I didn't like the taste of the vodka and I quickly stopped though Alex, Jill and Brandon were the people who finished off the bottle.
Without a single flash of disgust in any of Alex's shots I realized he must be familiar with alcohol, very familiar.
It was now about 1 am and Jill was telling this stupid story to everyone about stupid stuff. Alex was past drunk beside me.
"Do you want to leave?" He asked me. Suddenly Mark flashed into my head.
"Yeah I'm Should be home."
"Wanna take a taxi with me?" He grinned leaning towards my face.
"Yeah alright." I agreed. I should make sure he gets into a cab instead of his own car.
He was clearly wasted as he put his weight against me on our way to the sidewalk. He stumbled a few times and my grip on his waist tightened.
"I'm not drunk don't worry." He muttered.
"Okay."
"I don't get drunk." He said as he stumbled into me. I rolled my eyes.
"Your beautiful you know that?" He stopped as he faced me, his thumb rubbed my chin slightly.
"Thank you, but I'm not. I don't know why men keep telling me that." I looked down.
He used his thumb to lift my face up.
"If they are saying it in there, with their hands grabbing at you, they are just saying it as bait. But if they are saying it- out here after you just soaked them with water whilst yelling at them- its because they can't stop themselves from admitting how breathtaking you are." He said the words slowing down as he stopped to stare into my eyes.
"Oh." I mumbled as the taxi pulled up.
The car ride was silent as Alex looked out the window. We arrived at my house where my very angry husband would be. I hesitated before getting out.
"Thanks for inviting me. You were right."
He smiled up at me.
"Night Brown eyes." I blinked,
"What?"
"Your eyes are the prettiest eyes I've ever seen. People always tell me, your lucky you don't have those brown eyes, their boring and dull. But I'd be sure lucky if my eyes looked as amazing as yours."
I was happy it was dark out so Alex couldn't see my red hot face.
"Good night Alex." I chuckled and closed the cab door.
