The Much Needed Road Trip

Josh's POV

So I'm driving home after hitting the gym and I pass by our old apartment. Well it's still Tyler's but.. yeah anyway, I decided to stop by. I mean, why not right?

I hope he's been doing alright. I may have broken up with him but that doesn't mean I don't care about him.

I pull up and walk to the door, knocking on it slowly.

Tyler's POV

I was a mess. I thought I'd get over it by now but how could you?
I did write a lot. By that I mean I have like three full journals.

My days consisted of working till noon then coming to write eat then sleep.
While I was doing my usual writing, I heard a knock, which was odd cause I never got any visitors.

I got up and walked over to answer the door.

3rd person

Once Tyler opened the door, the two boys locked eyes. Josh gave a nervous smile and Tyler, well Tyler didn't really have a smile on his face. Or any emotion at all.

"Hey, Ty. How's it uh how's it going?"
Josh spoke up trying to start a  conversation.

"Good." Tyler lied and looked down at the ground.
"What about you? How've you been?"

"I've been alright. Glad to see you're doing good. I was heading home and said, why not stop by?" Josh shrugged and tried to make eye contact with Tyler but kept looking to the side.

Tyler sighed and moved back. "Do you wanna come in or?" He asked as he avoided looking up at his ex boyfriend.

Josh nodded slowly. "Yeah sure. I have time."

Tyler let him in and closed the door.
Josh looked around and sighed. "You haven't changed the place up much have you?" He asked and sat on the couch.

Tyler shook his head and sat down too but farther away from him.
"I uh I'm gonna propose to Jenna tomorrow night." He said breaking the silence.

Josh's eyes widened as he heard what Tyler said. "You're gonna ..what?"

"you heard me. We're gonna be engaged then married then.. I'll be happy."

Josh was confused. Tyler hated Jenna didn't he? Maybe he completely got over Josh and moved on? But he didn't seem like it.

"Ah well, I'm happy for you ty. I'm sure you two will be happy forever."

yler shrugged and looked down at his hands, messing around with his fingers. Josh cleared his throat and wanted to say something but he just couldn't.

"Listen... Tyler.. I... I'm so-"

"Don't. It's okay. Besides I moved on."

Josh, I haven't moved on. I need you.
