Captivating blue orbs; silky black hair; perfect pink lips; beautiful long eyelashes; high sharp cheek bones.

All of these features belonging to my extremely handsome mate. His eyes shined as he stared at my body. Heat rushed to my cheeks as he continued to openly check me out.

A low growl emitted from his mouth when he saw the redish-blue handprint on my left cheek. I stood there frozen on he spot not knowing what to do as he scrutinised every shape, curve and angle of my petite body.

Glancing at him one last time I turned on my heel an as fast as I ran through the throngs of people. I ran through the halls and out the front door.

'Stupid, ignorant, pissy, little bitch! WHY THE HELL DID YOU RUN FROM OUR MATE?!' My wolf oh-so-kindly screamed in my head.

'I don't want a mate. I don't want to have my heart broken like Clarissa!'

Clarissa Collins was my best friend, up until around a year ago. She had met her mate just a few months before she died. Cameron, her mate, had been a pack fighter but whilst he was out patrolling he encountered a group of rouges. They were too strong for him to take on by himself yet he never gave up fighting. I had been with Clarissa at the time. She had felt sharp pains all over her body and knew Cameron was in trouble. When we got to him it was already too late. Clarissa was so heart broken she killed herself only days afterwards. I was the one who walked in to find her dead on the floor. Doctors later concluded she had used wolfsbane to kill herself as it was less painful than stabbing herself.

I was so concentrated on running I hadn't realised where I'd ended up. Slowly, I stopped running as I didn't hear footsteps behind me. Standing in the middle of a forest in pitch blackness with no one to help you if you get attacked, is not the best idea in the world. And even though I had enhanced sight, speed, smell and hearing there is a possibility that I could still be caught off guard.

'Lu! Where the hell are you?' hearing Ben shout through the pack link reminded me I needed to put my walls back up again as I don't want anyone snooping in my mind. Last time that happened my inner most secret thoughts were posted all around school on posters. Especially the ones about me having a crush on Danny.

Thinking about Danny made my heart ache. Whereas my wolf was muttering about what a stupid little kid I was for believing that he'd love me.

'I'm fine' I finally replied to Ben 'I'm fine don't worry about me go back to having fun and I'll see you tomorrow' After that I cut the link and began to make my way back through the forest.

A slight breeze swept through the trees as I involuntarily shivered at the cool bite to the wind. Strange shadows danced across the trees as I manoeuvred my way over roots and under branches. Wrapping my arms around myself to try to preserve my body heat.

I had a feeling that I was being watched but by who or what I wasn't sure.

My foot caught on a gnarled tree root and I stumbled into a wall. Wait... Wall? There are no walls in the middle of the forest.

Snapping my head up, I found myself captured by the same blue orbs as at the party. How I hadn't felt the sparks I don't know, but I couldn't help the small smile that made its way to my lips, as he wrapped his muscular arms around my waist.

You could literally feel the alpha power radiating off of him. Great I'm mated to an alpha.

People may be wondering why I'm not happy. Well alpha mates are extremely possessive and hate to be proven wrong as well as being overly cocky and ignorant.

"I loved the chase, little mate," He whispered huskily in my ear "But you're going to be punished for running."

I'M SO SORRY I HAVEN'T UPDATED IN AGES!!! I UPDATE THIS ON MY IPOD SO WHEN THE APP STARTED TO SHUT DOWN EVERY TIME I USED IT I HAD TO DELETE IT AND RE-INSTALL IT.
