A growl left my mates mouth as I took a step backwards. He obviously thought I was going to run... again.

Fortunately for him I couldn't run anymore as I was literally about to pass out from exhaustion.

He took a slow step towards me and I gave him an exhausted smile before leaning on the tree behind me and slumping onto the floor.

Almost immediately my mate was at my side nudging me with his big furry head and whining.

Exhausted, I tried to stand but ended up fall back onto my butt. Seeing this, my mate ran behind a tree to shift and also to put some basketball shorts on.

He rushed over to my side asking me a bunch of questions to which I replied,

"Just stop fussing over me I'm fine. I'm just really tired."

As soon as I'd said I was tired, he'd swooped me up into his strongly built arms and began to run through the dense forest.

"What's your name" I asked genuinely curious.

"Damien, princess."

"Damien" I loved the way the name rolled off my tongue. It just sounded so ...so... sexy. He shivered, ever so slightly when I said his name making a small smirk appear on my face.

"And what's yours, princess?" His hot breath fanned across my face making heat rush to my cheeks as I stuttered out an answer.

"Lu- Lucia."

"Lucia. A gorgeous name, for a gorgeous girl." I shivered making his face light up into a million dollar smile.

"Sleep, baby girl. You're safe with me." His voice was soothing and calmed me instantly as I leant my head on his muscled chest listening to his rhythmic heart beat.

After a few minutes I was dead to the world.

I woke as I was placed lightly on a comfy queen sized bed. Looking up I saw it was Damien who had placed me on the bed. He looked exhausted. I wonder how far it was from where ever I had ended up.

"Hey" I whispered still half asleep.

He looked down at me and smiled.

"Hey, sleeping beauty. Go back to sleep. I'll be on the sofa downstairs if you want me. Oh, and before I forget you're in my house. Goodnight." turning he began to make his way out of the room.

"Damien," I whispered grasping his wrist, "stay? Please?"

He smiled slightly and walked around to the other side of the bed before stripping his clothes (apart from his boxers) and slid under the light blanket he had placed over me.

I felt him wrap his arms around my waist and pull me to his toned chest.

Slowly, I began to hear his heart beat even out as he dropped off to sleep. Soon my eyelids began to droop yet again and the last thought that ran through my head before I fell asleep was,

I could get used to this.
