*Next Friday*

“So I’m debating between either a pink dress or a mint dress. Would you rather wear a pink or mint tie?” I asked Niall, while we were in homeroom. Homerooms are based on your grade and last name. Holiday and Horan happen to share the same homeroom.

Homeroom is basically free time for the first thirty minutes of every Friday. You really don’t do anything, but today we voted for Homecoming Court, which took all of five minutes. Court would be announced at the end of the day, and I think votes are going to be in my favor. Over just this past week, Chance has become my main girl, and that has done wonders for my popularity.

                Hello Homecoming Court 2013.

I was on Court last year, but only seniors get elected for Homecoming King and Queen. Sucks for the lower classmen, but when you’re a senior, you don’t want to give that right up. Another reason why being a senior is better than every other grade.

Niall was leaned back in his chair, his right arm draped over the back of my chair. “Why does your dress concern me, again?”

“Niall, we have done this for every homecoming we have been together. You match your tie to my dress,” I told him, trying not to get impatient. He is only a guy.

“What makes you think I’m even going to ask you to homecoming?” Niall asked, leaning forward a bit to see my reaction.

                I rolled my eyes.

Niall laughed, leaning back in his chair again, closing his eyes.

“No, but seriously, you’re asking me to homecoming, right?” I asked.

“Nah, I think I’m just going to ask Harry. Then we can get matching black ties.”

                “Sucks, Harry is asking Channing.”

“Then I guess I’ll think about asking you.”

                “Oh, you’ll think about it?”

“If you keep talking, then I’m not going to.”

I covered my mouth with my hand as I laughed a bit. “We both know I’m not going to stop talking.”

Niall reopened his eyes, focusing on me, smiling.

“I think you would look better in mint.”

                “What the fuck is mint?”

“Kind of like blue and green.”

                “So like turquoise?”

                “Yeah, but not turquoise.”

“Please wear black,” he pleaded with me.

“No! I’m not going to look like I’m going to a funeral.”

                “But-“

“And we’re renting a party bus.”

“How much thought has you put into this?” he asked, running a hand tiredly over his face.

“Are you kidding? This is all Chance and I talk about. Anyway, what was I talking about?”

                “Party bus?”

“Oh right. And we are either going to go to Ybor or St. Pete to take pictures.”

“Can’t we do it in front of your neighborhood like we did last year?”

                “That’s not special enough.”

Niall rolled his eyes. “Any time I’m with you, it’s special.” The obnoxious smirk on his face only confirmed that he was saying it to be cheesy. Despite that, I didn’t object when he leaned forward to kiss me.

“Then it will be even more special in either Ybor or St. Pete,” I told him, with a smile.

“And how are we paying for this party bus?”

                “Chance’s boyfriend’s brother’s girlfriend’s uncle owns a party bus company.”

“What kind of fucking connection is that?”

“I’m shitting with you. Hunter’s dad owns the party bus company, so he’ll hook us up.”

Chance and I got all of this figured out.

The rest of homeroom was mostly me talking about homecoming and then Niall attempting to fall asleep, while I would shake his shoulder every time he got close. When the bell rang, we were the last two out of the door. Since our homeroom is a chemistry class, my biology class is only about two rooms down. Niall’s intense reading class is simply across the walkway.

“See you third period,” I said, kissing him once before letting go of his hand. And then we were off to our separate classrooms.

I’m so fucking ready to learn about the digestive system.

*8th period: Court Procedures*

Court procedures is one of four classes that Niall and I have together. We have agriculture, lunch, French 4, and then court procedures. Court procedures is a popular elective among seniors because it’s an easy A, and (this is a shocker) it’s actually interesting.

I sit in front on Niall, which is both good and bad. Good, because he’s right behind me. Bad, because he always has his feet on the back of my chair, and he unknowingly bounces his knee. At least he claims it’s unknowingly. It’s probably not.

The last five minutes of class, our teacher, Mrs. Boney, let us have to ourselves. She was in her late twenties and one of the coolest teachers at Waterview. She cusses at us, tells us dirty jokes, and is just overall an interesting teacher and person. I like her.

So, there, Niall, Harry, and I stood, in our own little triangle. They were talking about football, there was no game tonight, thankfully, and so I just stood there using my phone. Until the announcements came on, then I looked up, cutting Niall off with a sharp look.

The normal announcements were said. “And before we release the seniors. Here is your Class of 2014 Homecoming Court. Hunter Spice, Harry Styles,” I smiled at Harry, “Raider Bradley, and Niall Horan,” the announcer paused. “And for the girls we have Brooklyn Blake, Chance Ariel, Heavyn Holiday, and Bethany Smith. Thank you to everyone who voted. Seniors are released.”

I smiled as Niall put his arm around me, pulling me into him. I hugged him back momentarily before we left the classroom and started for the parking lot.

                Homecoming Court 2014. Not bad.
