Heavyn’s POV

Niall closed the bedroom door once we were both inside. And for a moment, we stood there, face to face.

“Are you going to say anything?” he asked me, his worried blue eyes searching my face for something. Maybe reassurance, maybe comfort, whatever it was, he was looking for something.

“I was wondering the same thing.” I ran a hand through my tangly, curly hair. “You smell like vodka,” I say, trying to encourage him to talk. He didn’t go off my lead.

“I thought you were going to tell me off.”

“It’s hard to tell you off when I don’t even know what you did.”

Niall backed up, until he was able to sit on the edge of his bed. He put his face in his hands, letting out a long breath. “That was scary. So fucking scary.” And I knew that was my cue to go and comfort him. So I sat on his bed next to him, gently taking his hands away from his face. When he looked at me again, his eyes were a little glossy. He wasn’t crying, I just had a feeling he was just feeling a little overwhelmed by all of this. And seeing Niall looking so lost only made me hurt for him. I wrapped my arms around his neck, pulling him close to me as I tangled my fingers in his hair and used my other hand to rub his back.

                “Please tell me what happened.”

So he explained it all. The drinking, the smoking, getting handcuffed, getting pushed into the back of the cop car, everything. Halfway through, I pulled away from him, so we could talk face to face.

“This is my fault,” I finally concluded. “I was overdramatic, and… and, and I’m sorry,” I admitted to him. There was no point in getting mad at him at this point. I’m sure Greg will take care of it once I leave.

Niall gave me a look, silently telling me that I was stupid. “Don’t blame yourself. That’s only going to make me feel worse,” he paused. “Did I ruin your Homecoming?”

                Yes, yes you did, Niall.
