Heavyn’s POV

I could not get home quick enough.

Once home, I sprinted up the stairs, calling a quick “hey!” to my parents and then shouting about how I had to be somewhere. I slammed my bedroom door behind me, startling Jackson from his sleep.

I kicked off my heels, threw my clutch onto the bed, and quickly started getting out of my dress. My not so curly hair stuck to my shoulders as I ran around my room, in my bra and underwear, desperately trying to find something casual.

A pair of athletic shirts and a plain white t-shirt would have to do. I didn’t even bother with shoes as I grabbed my clutch and lanyard, which had my keys attached to it.

Yes, I was actually going to drive my car.

“Where are you going?” my mom asked, standing from the couch when she heard my feet against the stairs.

“Chance is having a movie night. I’ll talk to you guys later. Don’t want to be late!” I breathlessly explained. I yanked open the front door and then shut it just as quickly.

I padded out to my car. Bare feet weren’t a good idea.

I yanked open the door of the Mercedes. I’ve had this car for over a year, and you want to know how many miles it has on it?

                363.

I never use my car. I mean, it’s lovely. But I never use it.

I tossed my clutch into the passenger seat and then shoved the key into the ignition. I quickly pulled the car into reverse, backing quickly out of my driveway.

My car started beeping like a madman at the fact I didn’t have my seatbelt. So as I sped down the road, I put on my seatbelt.
