Niall’s POV

Why the hell does she do this?

Of course I’d rather have Heavyn be Homecoming Queen. I know she wanted it, and I wanted it for her. But I’m not just going to not dance with Chance. This is her moment too. And sometimes Heavyn needs to just accept that things won’t always go her away.

Then again, I wouldn’t be thrilled if Hunter won in my place and Heavyn won in Chance’s place. It’s not easy watching your girlfriend dance with some other guy.

The moment I saw Heavyn take Harry’s hand I knew tonight wasn’t going to work out how I wanted it to. She always uses him against me. My best friend.

So when Heavyn left to go and find Harry after I tried dancing with her, I left as well. But not to go and find Chance like I had told her, Chance was no doubt with Hunter or whatever he’s called, instead I went to the cafeteria just to get away from the atmosphere a bit.

                I would find Heavyn later.

The cafeteria was pretty full but not nearly as packed as the gym. Not to mention, it didn’t smell like sweaty socks in here.

There were a lot of people chatting as well as getting some water.

Come to think of it, it was pretty warm and stuffy inside the gym, so I grabbed myself a cup of water.

                “Hey, Niall.”

I turned to find one of my teammates from the football team, Rhett. I don’t usually talk to Rhett much. He’s an… Intense guy. Whether it’s during football or just everyday life, he’s a very ‘in your face’ kind of guy. Which can be a little overwhelming before you’re used to it.

                I just nodded at him.
