I found this prompt in the depths of tumblr and I found it interesting. It is another Klance fic because nobody is asking me to write any other ships, so I might as well make one of my main ship.
A/N at the end.
Lance worked in his mother's old flower shop. It was a small place with Ivy growing on the walls and tiny Cardinal vines daintily hanging from various light fixtures. The windows always stayed open during the spring, so birds occasionally flitted about.
Lance personally loved the Hummingbirds, for they were his main source of entertainment. He watched as they zipped from flower to flower, tending to prefer red and purple hues. Their shimmering feathers were usually a plethora of greens and blues, but on a good day, Lance would see a grey or white one. They were not common, though, so when he saw one, it was almost like a good omen.
Tiny Wrens made nests in pots hanging from the shelves, their babies chirping loudly during daylight hours. The mothers were territorial, only letting Lance come near. Sometimes, a young bird would glide (albeit not gracefully) right onto his head, but he would just laugh it off and replace them in their nests. Birds always seemed comfortable around him while in the store, and for good reason.
The windows were high enough to where no predatory animals could enter and kill off the hatchlings, so the beautiful flying creatures tended to relax within the warm space. The lights were run on solar panels built onto the roof above, so the electricity bill usually wasn't too bad during the spring and summer days.
The water bill, though, was a totally different story.
It was usually quite high, which is expected for a greenhouse-like store like his mother's. Lance didn't mind as long as he could afford it.
The Cuban male pretty much owned the store, paying for the bills and tending each and every plant. His friends, Pidge and Hunk, worked with him as well. They were usually sent on home deliveries called in, but sometimes, he had to go alone when somebody was not at work.
Today was one of those days.
Hunk had a date with Shay, a woman who worked at a coffee shop downtown, so being the dashingly kind gentleman he was, Lance took his assignments for him. Tucking a blue Peony behind his ear, he sighed and got to work.
His first stop was easy. He had to deliver and plant a dozen yellow Marigolds for an elderly woman uptown. It took him about half an hour, though, because the kind lady invited him in for a couple cookies after paying him.
The next job took a little more time, ending at around a total of two hours and fifteen minutes. Lance had to unload and plant over six dozen Petunias, ten Lavender plants and six Ivys. The man, a tall guy with an awesome ginger mustache, payed him double for his work, so he supposed it wasn't too bad.
The final assignment, though, was a bit... different.
The delivery was easy and flew by, Lance thankfully not having to plant. It was almost night when he left and the massive forest surrounding the house just slightly creeped him out.
As he was walking down the long driveway, he stopped. Down near the base of the pavement was a beautiful male with gorgeous purpley-pink eyes. His hair was long and black, just past his shoulders. He wore all black, but he held a single crimson rose. This man didn't seem to see Lance and continued walking left to a dark part of the forest.
Following, Lance silently crept in the shadows. He silently thanked his Mama for enrolling him in Ballet for five years as he gracefully dodged twigs and leaves in order to keep his position hidden. He was on the tips of his toes, quickly but cautiously following behind the treeline.
