Dedicated to my buddy chum pal chum friend, MajesticallyMajestic
I PROMISED THIS SO HERE YOU GOLance and Allura stood silently on a foreign planet. It was oddly like earth and yet there was no nostalgia.
Sure, Lance missed his home, but this was not Earth. This was some random bullshit planet they dropped him off at. Allura was another thing keeping him grounded. She reminded him that they were pretty much exiled.
Let me explain:
The Paladins found a foreign signal within the depths of a dangerous planet and, deciding to send the most expendable, they sent Lance.
If you think that's bad, wait till you hear that they said that to his face.
After that, Allura got into a fight with the others, defending Lance with her life. Said male stood there, tears in his eyes, before Allura grabbed his hand and left the ship.
That is where they are now, standing on the soft mossy grass, both silent and both filled with rage.
"Hey." Lance said nothing more, worried his voice would start breaking like his heart was. Allura walked over and hugged him, pulling him to her chest. He began to cry into her shoulder, leaving wet patches into her clothing.
"T-they just... I... How could they?! They know I-I try so hard and yet they sent me to die like that! They k-knew, Allura. THEY KNEW!" His cries were echoing along the field, bouncing off of a cliff face before them. Silence resonated back and Lance's sorrow soon became pure unaltered rage.
"HOW COULD THEY! I DID EVERYTHING TO HELP THEM! I SENT PIDGE TO BED WHEN SHE STAYED UP TOO LATE, I HELPED HUNK AND CORAN WITH REPAIRS, I SPARRED WITH KEITH AND SHIRO, AND I SURE AS HELL DID NOT DESERVE THIS! THEY WILL P A Y!"
Suddenly, the ground shook. The massive cliff face before them began opening, creating a colossal opening. White runes and weird shapes began to flow on the walls.
Allura and Lance made eye contact, both too shocked to speak. Neither moved for a solid minute before slowly letting go of eachother.
The two best friends began to slowly advance, walking into the white glowing tunnel before them. Blue moss was growing along the walls, lit up from the runes beneath them. It stunned Lance how beautiful they were, looking like blue christmas lights.
A swirl of pink and blue slowly began to shine through the marks, matching those of the two former paladins. A dark hand moved around the wall, dragging a trail of blue along with it. Pink soon appeared beside the blue, making a masterpiece slowly dripping from the walls.
At the end of the tunnel, a loud boom followed by the cracking of rocks resonated, making the two release their hands from the wall and place them to their ears. Both waited it out, only letting go when everything was silent once more.
Both friends walked straight towards the sound, almost shocking eachother with how they thought so much alike. Their footsteps brought colours again, looking like clouds of mist. There seemed to be a colour missing, though...
When the two had successfully made it past the heaps of rocks, they were met with three doors.
One, a smaller door to the left, was swirling with vibrant pinks, all hues. There were pales and darks, even fuchsia. There was a large stone lion head on top, a slightly pinkish colour. It's mouth was open, teeth sharp. It looked fast and lethal, truly menacing.
The door to the far right was off, no light to be found. The Lion head atop was a bit smaller than the one before Allura, a faded purple. It was a different style, it seemed, and it had less teeth and more armour. It's mouth was closed, stone faced and waiting in silent patience. It seemed like a good defensive lion.
Finally, the door before Lance stood, blue twirling excitedly. The colour of the lion atop was a beautiful Ivory, mouth wide. It was the biggest, had the sharpest teeth and seemed the strongest and most wise out of all of the lions. The eyes were a brilliant blue unlike anything ever seen, comparable to Lance's own. There were blue markings twisting along the face, almost making it seem like a mask.
Lance felt an immediate draw to the door amd it seemed Allura had felt it for hers, too. The door to the right stood silent, lacking a third member...
The former blue and red paladin pushed through the door, instantly being shot into the air. Allura was, too, because Lance heard her surprised scream. As they began the descent, something rushed towards them.
From the shadows, two pairs of eyes lit up, one massive and one slightly smaller. Blue eyes met and suddenly, Lance knew what to do.
The second he felt the tingle, his whole body began to react. Water spawned from mid air and swirled up from the ground, meeting in a spiral of somehow clear water. Both man and lion came together, Lance's new beast catching him mid fall. The water surrounding him expanded, collecting more and more until it almost completely surrounded both of them in a massive twirl. They hit the floor with a loud thud, another soon following as Allura and her lion met the ground.
Lance closed his eyes, letting the tingle slowly fade away and the water slowly disappearing. His mind opened, greeting three nee entities. One he recognised as the lumbering beauty before him, another he could tell from the light feeling he got by inspecting it that it was the lion by Allura and the final was a small purple whisp in the background, docile until called for by only himself and his lion.
Lance McClain, Human-Water Mage hybrid, please come closer.
He heard the words in his head and it seemed Allura was called for as well, for both stepped forward exactly at the same time. The two lions sat down, shaking the ground and damn near sending the two mortals with them. Allura's lion laid down, nose just a hairs' width away from her. Lance's lion stayed sitting, looking down in what Lance could feel was a mixture of both happiness and proudness.
You and six others have been chosen for a reason. It seems we only have one other so far, so now our first mission will be to find the final pieces of our puzzle. Welcome home, Lance. You may call me whatever you like. Is there a name in mind?
Lance thought for a second, a cheesy idea popping into his head. Allura must have had the same idea from hearing Lance talking about it earlier because damn, were they in sync.
"Ira."
"Luxuria."
The two mortals looked towards eachother, knowing what they were doing.
Ira was the name of one of the seven deadly sins. She stood for Wrath.
Luxuria was another sin. She was Lust.
Now, all they needed were Tristitia, Gula, Avaritia, Superbia, Vanagloria and Acedia. Then, they could have a full team.
That sounded nice to Lance and he couldn't wait for what was to come.
