Ninja and girl

A terrible discovery.

Cole's pov.

I woke to the sound of Blake crying and looked at the clock.
12:30. Best to get up out of bed.
As I walked in the kitchen, I found a note from Anna.
'I have to go to the store and get some things. I will be back soon. Love you.
-Anna.'
Blake started crying even louder.
I went into the nursery and picked him up out of his crib. He suddenly went from crying, to absolutely screaming. And this wasn't his way to tell me that he needed something. He was terrified. But why? After I changed him, I tried to give him a bottle but he wouldn't take it.
I kissed his head and he screamed even louder.
He opened his eyes and I gasped. There were grey specks in his pupils and some on his irises.
I didn't like the way it looked, so I loaded him up in the car and took him to the doctor.

"This really doesn't look good. Let me run some tests and see what happens." The doctor said as she checked Blake's eyes. I nodded.
She went into another room.
Blake wasn't screaming anymore, but he was still crying.
"My poor son." I whispered.
He stopped crying, but continued to whimper.

When the doctor came back, she told me that Blake was going blind and could not have an operation because he wasn't old enough. He would have to wait until he was at least six years old.
What was I going to tell Anna? She's not going to like this. I don't like this. My son is blind and there's nothing I can do until he's six.
I cradled him in my arms. We just got home. I called Anna and told her the news. She was upset. I can't blame her. Our sweet little boy who we had such high hopes for being a ninja, is blind. I sighed as we got off the phone.
The doctor said as long as family and friends talk to him, then he would know who we were.
"It's ok Blake. You're going to be just fine." I told him.
'Yeah right. How will he be fine if he can't see?' I thought to myself.
I laid on the bed, and fell asleep with him in my arms.

He'll be alright. He's going to see again. I hope.
