Ariella (Present)Last night my nerves finally calmed down enough for me to clean my room. I couldn't get a full goodnight sleep because I was thinking about what Jess said. Alex and I both can't deny that we have felt something for each other since we were little. It was pretty obvious after we kissed for the first time. Deep down I knew I would've told Jess about us right then and there. But, I wanted to keep what happened between us strictly that.
But I really hope since she said what she said, that she'll be okay with us being together. I just got to let the idea of us in her head before hand.
When my alarm clock went off at six, my eyes were burning from exhaustion. Literally dragging myself out of bed and into my bathroom. I take a relaxing shower and I blow dry and curl the ends of my hair. I get dressed in dark washed jeans, a baby pink sweater, and I put on a pair of brown booties. Cheer practice is today so I have to put my hair up in a ponytail.
If I'm being honest I didn't even want to be a cheerleader. Jess made me join the team with her because she hates the captain of the team, Tiffany. I don't really like her all that much either. I see her all the time at school trying to talk to Alex and she's even touched him places like on the arm occasionally. But every time she does he always backs away from her and walks away.
Mom made a pretty big breakfast this morning. Dad got in from his business trip pretty late last night so he's still in bed. I put two pancakes, along with fruit and bacon on plate. I try to eat quickly because it's almost 7:30 and that's usually the time Jess and Alex leave for school.
Just as I take the last bit of my pancakes I hear a car honk. I give my mom and Jill a quick kiss on the cheek and I walk out of my house. I see Alex and Jess parked outside of my house waiting for me. Jess waves while Alex just looks at me up and down. I open the door to the backseat and I climb in behind Jess.
"Hey guys." I say shutting the door.
"Hey." they both say. Alex pulls out onto the street just as Jess begins talking.
"I'm seriously not looking forward to practice today." Jess says looking back to me.
"Why?" I say.
"Because at the last practice Tiffany assigned all our positions on the pyramid. That bitch put me on the bottom on purpose." she says and I can see Alex rolling his eyes in the rear view mirror.
"I'm sure it won't be that bad."
"Of course it will. I have to hold up the weight of at least four girls. I don't know how I'm going to do that." Jess says huffing then sinks down into her seat.
I look back at Alex in the rear view mirror and I see him staring right back at me. I smile looking down as I see his lips tug into a smirk.

The school day is as slow as a snail. All I want to do is just go home and sleep. But I have to stay here until six because that's when cheer practice ends. My English class finally let's out after what feels like an eternity. I ran out of water so I stopped by the water fountain to fill it up. Suddenly I feel a hand placed on my hip and my hair is brushed off to the side.
"You look beautiful." Alex says into my ear. Before I could turn around and look at him he walks away. I look at him walking away and he turns around and shoots me a wink.
