I set down my school bag, being the least awkward that I could be. Marinette had a sofa-type chair in her room that I'd be sleeping on, and if things could get any weirder than that, I'd be surprised.
Her face was red as she showed me the roof-type patio that her room led into. The fresh air was amazing.
"Um, so, Yeah. That's my room, I guess." I nodded. There was silence as we both admired the city. "Hey, do you know when Nino and Alya are coming to hangout tonight? I remember them mentioning that earlier," Marinette spoke. I was grateful for something to talk about that wasn't wierd, like everything felt like right now. "Yeah, I'll text him and ask," I responded, pulling my phone out of my pocket.
"I didn't know you were a big Chat Noir fan," She said suddenly. I froze for a second. What?!? "Uh, Yeah I guess, why?" She gestured at my hand. "Your ring looks exactly like his. Where'd you get it?" I laughed nervously. How could I get myself out of this one? I never thought anyone would notice, for some reason. "Um, there was a- uh- it just showed up in my room."
Crap. Why'd I say that?
Her eyes widened and she looked deep in thought for a moment, then shook her head like it was nothing. Our phones then beeped simultaneously, signaling a text message. "Nino says he can't come." "Alya says that her family's busy getting things ready for her brother's birthday party." She sighed. "Does Alya even have a brot-" she mumbled, and stopped. "Oh Alya..." she rolled her eyes and smiled. "She's trying to- oh, never mind. Not really important. I guess we're alone for the evening, then?" She said, and immediately shook her head and stuttered, trying to make it not sound as bad. "It's fine," I laughed. "I get what you mean." She put a hand on her chest and took a deep breath. "Good. I didn't- I just get my words mixed up sometimes, you know. So, um, well, what do you want to do?" She asked. "Hmm..." I shrugged. "I dunno, maybe we could watch a movie or work on a project. Are you finished with yours yet?" I questioned. She grinned sideways, almost apologetically. "I finished mine yesterday." She gazed down for a moment, but then she suddenly looked up at me, her gaze still the same galaxy of blue, and I almost didn't hear what she had said. "I have to bake some things for poetry night tommorow, do you want to help me?" It took me a moment to respond, being in a trance from her eyes and her face. She was just.. so beautifully cute. "I-I'm sorry for even suggesting it, did you say something about a mov-" I stopped her mid sentence. "Mari, it's alright; I'd love to. I just don't really know how."
Her face lit up and there was a twinkle in her eye. "I'll teach you, soon-to-be master baker." She giggled. "Let's go!"
(New chapter will be up soon. I'll start working on it tonight and can hopefully publish it tommorow! Love you guys :) )
