It had been about two weeks and I had not left my room at all.

Devan would bring meals up and leave them outside the door, but I wasn't very hungry.

Most of the time, I would just lay on  my bed staring at the ceiling for hours.

All I could think about was the phone call and how I would never be able to see my mom again.

I know there was nothing I could have done to stop it, but I still feel like some part of it was my fault.

I heard a knock on the door followed by something being set down.

I noticed the time and realized it was too early for a meal, so for the first time in a while, my curiosity peaked.

I waited a few minutes before getting up to see what it was.

I opened the door and saw a single red rose on top of a piece of paper.

It was a note from Devan.

It said: If your up to it, I'd like to take you somewhere. Just wear comfortable clothes. If you want to go, write me back and leave it outside my door and I'll see it. Be ready at 5:00 pm ~Dev ♡

I looked at the clock and the time was 3:30 pm.

After thinking about it for a minute, I decided that I would go see what Devan had planned for us.

I wrote him a note back that said: ok I'll be ready at 5 ~y/n ♡

I tiptoed over to his room and left the paper outside his door.

I knocked so he would know I responded and then I hurried back to my room.

I took a shower, dried and curled my hair, then put on some natural makeup.

I decided to wear a long, flowy gray shirt and black skinny jeans.

By the time I had finished, it was almost 5, so I decided I would head downstairs.

Collins was in the kitchen so I went there to see him.

I walked in and he turned around and as soon as he saw me he smiled really big and gave me a quick hug.

"Its so good to see you out here! Are you doing ok?" He asked.

"Ya I'm ok."

"I'm not allowed to say anything but you're going to have a good night tonight."

I half-smiled and said "I hope so."

We walked over to the chairs and turned on the tv while we waited for Devan to come down.

It had been a few minutes and I got up to get a drink.

I was standing at the sink filling my glass when arms wrapped around me.

I turned me head to see Devans stunning blue eyes staring into mine.

"You look beautiful."

All I could do was hug him back.

Tears found their way to my eyes and I tried to hold them back and be brave in front of Devan.

However, he saw that I was breaking inside so he bent down until he was eye level with me.

As the tears started to escape my eyes, he reached his hand up to my cheek and wiped my tears away with his thumbs.

"Are you ok? I know how hard this must be for you. You know, if your not up to this tonight we don't have to go."

"No its fine, I'll be ok and I'll be with you so if I'm not, you'll be here."

I collected myself and took a deep breath before leaving the kitchen.

We walked into the other room and watched tv with Collins for a little while.

Eventually, Devan looked at the time and said, "Ok, we need to go now. You sure you still want to?"

"Yes I'm sure. I really want to see what dear Mr. Secretive has been planning!"

"Alright then, lets go!"

We said goodbye to Collins and then got in Devan's car and left to go on the adventure he had planned.
