When my alarm went off this morning, instead of dreading the long and exhausting day of school, I jumped up excited to see Devan again.

I know it's only been a day, but we seemed to really hit it off yesterday.

When I got to school and was leaving my locker with my arms full of books, I ran into Devan in the hall.

When I say I ran into him, I mean I literally ran into him.

I dropped all my books and we both bent over to pick them up.

After we finished laughing, which took longer than you might think, Devan asked, "So hey, I was wondering if you would want to have lunch with me in the cafeteria later? I mean you don't have to if you don't want to. I just thought it might be nice..."

I could tell he looked kind of nervous, despite having just laughed so hard.

I smiled reassuringly and said, "Devan, I would love to."

When it was finally time for lunch, I left my class quickly and hurried to the cafeteria to find Devan. I spotted him and walked over to the table he was sitting at and we started to eat.

We talked about school and what we might want to do as soon as our senior year was over.

I found out that Devan likes to paint and Collins does magic.

He also told me they have a YouTube channel and post videos on it every week.

Soon our lunch was over and we went to our next class together.

After school was over, we went back home. I drove Devan because we live next door and it would be easiest if we carpooled.

Devan invited me over to his house shortly after we got home, so we could work on our homework together.

Once we finished our homework, I helped his mom and the brothers unpack the rest of their stuff and put everything away.

I looked at my phone and noticed that my mom had texted me.  I told them I would have to go home, but I'd talk to them later.

I said goodbye and walked back to my house. I went inside and the first thing I saw was my mom looking at me with a certain look on her face and trying to hide a smile.

"What?" I asked.

She just smiled and said, "Nothing. I just think it's nice your becoming such good friends with Collins and Devan."

"It's not nothing. You have that look on your face."

She just laughed and smiled up at me.

I just shook my head and looked at her in disbelief as I left the room.
