"What do you think of this one, Devan?" Collins asked me.

We had been looking at engagement rings for a few hours and we had gone to several different stores but we still haven't found anything.

"I don't know. I just don't think that's the right one for her."

I walked a little ways away from Collins and I saw the one I knew was perfect.

It was a silver band and it had a large diamond in the middle.

The band was twisted and had diamonds layed on it.

"Collins! This is the one." I called him over.

"Are you sure bro?" he asked.

I looked at him dead in the eye and said, "absolutely."

She was sitting on the beach, skechpad in her lap, pencil in her hand.

I had put the box out of site and walked over to her.

She didn't notice me until I came over and sat down next to her.

She looked up and noticed it was me and gave me that killer smile.

"So did you find what you needed at the mall?"

I looked at her. "Ya I did. And I found something else too. Come with me." I responded.

I grabbed her hand and pulled her up.

We walked across the beach going further and further away from the crowds.

*Your pov*

A million thoughts and questions raced through my head as Devan lead me up a slight hill to a more private part of the beach.

He had let go of my hand and fallen slightly behind as we reached the beach.

I turned around to look at him and he motioned for me to keep going.

It wasn't until I looked down that I stopped walking.

My heart stopped.

Written in the sand were two words that changed my life forever.

Marry me?

I stood in shock unable to move.

I finally turned around and saw Devan looking at me with a steady look in his gorgeous ocean blue eyes.

"Y/n, when I first met you, I knew you were different than any other girl that I had met. There was something about you that I just couldn't forget, even if I tried. On our first date, I realized that you were someone that deserved respect and honor, not to be treated badly by anyone. That day when your mom was in the plane accident, I saw a side of you that was different than what I had seen before. You were weak and vulnerable and I almost couldn't bear to see you like that. After that day, you showed me that you can be strong, even when it is impossible for anyone else can stand. I admire you for all of this so much. And I want you to be the only one in my life. I want us to grow old together and live to see so many things as unique and as beautiful as you. I want us to stay up late watching Disney movies and to have random tickle fights whenever we feel like it. Will you make me the happiest man on the earth and marry me?"

At the last sentence he got down on one knee and held a beautiful diamond ring.

Hands over my mouth, tears running down my face, I looked at him.

"Devan, I can't imagine my life with anyone else in it. Yes I will marry you!"

I ran to him and wrapped my arms around him.

I never wanted to let go.

I looked at him with the biggest smile on my face.

He met his lips with mine.

I never wanted this moment to end.
