With one big leap, all three of us found ourselves inside the mirror. It was a strange feeling, one that I can’t put into words. It was dark and cold, but most of all, it was creepy. As we all stood up, I saw a door straight in front of us. “Through here.” I edged them towards the door, even though I had no idea where it led to.
When we went through, we found ourselves in what seemed like a hall of mirrors. Sammie turned back, but the door had vanished.
“We’re trapped!” She screamed, starting to panic.
“No we’re not. We just have to find a way out. Come on, this way!” I replied, keeping calm the best I could. This reminded me of the time we all went on a school trip to London Dungeons. We had to go through a hall of mirrors then, and Sammie acted the same way then as she did now. Only she was panicking even more this time.
For what felt like hours, we stumbled in all directions looking for a way out. Every now and again, Lucy would call for Richard and I would call for Cleotora. But there were never any replies. Until, when we were still lost in the mirror maze, we heard a cry for help.
“Richard?” Lucy whispered, looking around for the source of the sound. I could tell she was close to tears, but she was trying not to let it show. No one replied. Then all of a sudden, we all heard the sound of coming footsteps. Someone was there, hidden in the dark. But after minutes of waiting, no one came.
“Help! Is anyone there? Help m………..” We heard someone call from behind us. It was Richard.
“Richard?” Lucy listened again, but he didn’t say anything else. “Richard! If you can heard us, then don’t worry, we’re coming to rescue you!” She shouted before dragging me and Sammie into the dark.
Eventually, we got out of the mirror maze and then found ourselves inside a dark room. Then there, in the middle of the room, was a big block of what looked like ice. Inside it was Richard, froze stiff.
“Richard!” Lucy yelled running towards him. “Richard! Richard, can you hear me?” She yelled as she tried to break it. But it didn’t work. “Come on help me!” She said to us. We both hurried towards her. All three of us tried, but it didn’t help. Then I stopped, trying to think of something to do.
I could see that Lucy was started to panic, and she wasn’t the only one. We were all starting to get a bit paranoid as well. I slowly backed away from the ice, trying to think of a way to break it. I then felt something brush my side. This made me shiver. I quickly spun around, but no one was there. I then remembered the crystal in my pocket. It was worth a shot. “Hey! Stand back!” I urged them. Sammie obeyed, but Lucy wouldn’t give in.
“No! We can’t leave him! We have to get him out!” She cried, not leaving his side. When she finally stopped, she looked into my eyes. Her tears we now clearly visible as they started to roll down her face.
“Look trust me, we’re going to get him out. But to do that, you need to stand back, ok?”
“Ok.” She replied softly, doing as I said.
As I approached the ice again, the crystal started to heat up and glow, just like before. I plunged the crystal at the block of ice, and was suddenly thrown back by the force of impact. Lucy and Sammie did the same, falling to the floor. When we were able to stand, we all looked to see if the crystal had worked. It had, but not entirely. Richard was free, but he wasn’t quite back to normal. He stumbled a bit then tried to walk.
“Richard!” Lucy called, flinging her arms around him. He was shivering. Although the crystal had freed him, he was still suffering from the effects of the ice. “Quick! We need to get him out of here!” She said, holding him up.
