The Kiss

Ethan's POV

"Hello? Good Afternoon po Lolo Manuel. Andiyan po ba si Sophia?" aniya nang sagutin ng Don ang tawag niya.

"Oh Ethan. Si Sophia? Yeah she's here. She's in the conference room with the board. Why? Is there a problem?" anito.

"Wala naman po. Hindi po kasi siya sumasagot sa tawag ko." aniya.

"Baka hindi lang niya napansin na tumatawag ka. I'll tell her when she comes out." anito.

"Thanks po Lolo." aniya.

"Sure Ethan." anito.

Napabuntong hininga siya matapos magpaalam sa Don. Ang totoo, may usapan sila ni Sophia na sabay silang magla-lunch ngayon. Dalawang oras na siyang naghihintay dito sa restaurant na pinag-usapan nila. It's already past 1pm and it seemed like nakalimutan nito. It would have been better if she was answering her phone pero wala eh. Kanina pa siya tumatawag pero mukhang busy ito which Don Manuel just confirmed.

But she should've called or texted me...

Kararating lang niya sa condo unit niya nang biglang tumunog ang cellphone niya. It's her, calling.

"Hello." he answered calmly. He needed to hear her out before reacting.

"Hello Ethan. What's up?" she answered.

Sandali siyang nagtaka sa sagot nito. Did she really forget? Hindi niya napigilan ang biglang pagsama ng loob. Dalawang oras siyang naghintay sa wala. He tried to calm himself down bago nagsalita.

"Have you eaten your lunch already?" he asked to confirm kung nakalimutan nga nito.

"Yup. I had lunch with Lolo already. You?" anito na tila wala pa ring ideya kung bakit siya tumawag.

"Not yet." tipid niyang sagot na hindi naitago ang pagkadismaya sa boses.

"Not yet? Why?" she asked totally oblivious of what's happening. He sighed and was about to confront her when she continued.

"Hey, don't starve yourself baka magkasakit ka niyan. Do you want me to come over and bring you lunch?" she suggested.

Lahat ng sama ng loob niya biglang inilipad ng hangin palabas. She might have forgotten their lunch date but her suggestion was interesting. He actually liked it better than their original plan. He sighed.

"Alright." aniya.

"Cool. I'm coming over. Give me more or less 30 minutes. Ok? See you! Bye." masigla nitong turan.

"Ok. Bye." aniya.

"I miss you." bigla nitong pahabol.

Hindi niya napigilan ang biglang paglundag ng puso. She really knew how to make him feel better. He smiled.

"I miss you too. Can't wait to see you. Hurry up please." aniya.

"Me too! Ok. Bye for now." she said before finally ended the call. Napailing na lang siya.

Sophia's POV

It's been almost a month since Ethan and her started their "relationship" and she couldn't help but smile pag naaalala niya kung gaano sila kasaya at kung paano siya nito alagaan. He's simply the best. Araw araw siya nitong pinapangiti at pinapasaya. Her days were extra special because of him. Pakiramdam niya sulit na sulit ang bawat araw niya dahil dito.

She was chirping when she finally reached his condo. Umakyat siya sa unit nito dala dala ang lunch na binili niya para dito. She was trying to return the favor. Sobrang maalaga kasi nito kaya gusto din niyang maramdaman nito kung gaano siya nito napapasaya at kung gaano niya naa-appreciate ang mga gestures nito.
