The Bet

Ethan's POV

He's in the entertainment section of the hotel. He needed something to distract him. Mababaliw siya pag hindi siya lumabas ng suite niya. Nakakabingi ang katahimikan lalo na't wala dun ang parents niya. He's playing billiards, alone. What a loner.

His eyes roamed around. Most of the people there were on their 20's and up. Siya lang yata ang 14 dun but he doubted it na alam nilang 14 lang siya. He's a bit tall for his age and he never acted like a kid. He sighed then continued what he was doing.

He was about to hit the cue ball when someone picked it up. Mabilis na umangat ang mukha niya. He saw an unfamiliar lady. Hula niya nasa early twenties ito. Tumuwid siya ng tayo mula sa pagkakayuko.

"Hi." she said.

He didn't respond. He just gave her a cold stare. Gusto niyang mapag-isa and this girl just invaded his privacy. She's wearing revealing clothes matched with a heavy make up.

"Want me to play with you?" she asked while playing the cue ball with her fingers. She's giving him a lopsided grin. He secretly cringed then snatched the ball away from her hand.

"No, thanks." he said then put the cue ball back on the billiard table.

He was preparing to hit the ball when the girl picked it up again.

"Why not? You don't want company?" she asked.

She wouldn't stop, would she?

He sighed while trying to calm himself down. He didn't want to be rude pero inuubos ng babae ang pasensiya niya. He was about to say something not so rude but not so nice as well when someone suddenly hugged him from the back.

"Babe!" tawag ng pamilyar na tinig. Mabilis na lumipad ang tingin niya sa mga kamay nito na magkahugpong sa bahagi ng tiyan niya.

What the hell?!

"I was looking for you the whole afternoon." dugtong ng nakayakap sa kanya.

He smelled a familiar scent. He didn't have to turn around to know who's hugging him. It's her. His annoying stalker.

Sophia...

He was about to scold her when he noticed the girl in front of him frowning. Oo nga pala, may nakakainis nga palang babae sa harap niya na kanina pa niya gustong paalisin. Hindi niya alam kung ano ang biglang pumasok sa isip niya basta bigla niya na lang hinawakan ang magkabilang kamay ni Sophia at iniharap ito sa kanya.

"Babe..." he said then hugged her. He felt her stiffened. It's obvious that she was shocked sa ginawa niya. Nakita din niya sa gilid ng mga mata niya ang padabog na pag-alis ng babae sa harap niya.

Lihim siyang napangiti. It's like hitting two birds with one stone. Napaalis niya na ang babae, nagulat pa niya si Sophia.

Nagulat nga ba?

Noon niya lang napansin na nakayakap na rin pala ito sa kanya. Tiningnan niya ito. The girl was closing her eyes while smiling. She's actually enjoying every moment!

Parang napapasong lumayo siya dito. She's grinning from ear to ear. Mukhang siya yata ang naisahan nito.

"Hi babe!" bati nito sa kanya sabay kindat. Sandali niyang in-appreciate ang simpleng ayos nito. She looked fresh and beautiful. Mabilis niyang iwinakli ang iniisip. He couldn't afford another conflict in his life.

"What was that all about?" nakakunot noong tanong niya dito.

"How about a thank you Mr. Ethan Daniel Martinez? I just did you a favor for crying out loud!" anitong nakalabi. Bigla siyang natigilan sa sinabi nito. It brought back a lot of memories. The words were painfully familiar lalo na yung pagtawag nito sa kanya sa buo niyang pangalan. Sandaling naglakbay ang isip niya....
