9. The Pre War

"Draco?"

"Mhmmm?"

"Why did you do all this for-" she hesitated,"-me?"

"I had to help the Order. They took me in when the others had shut me out. The Order needed you. We all did."

But now the reason is entirely different.

"Oh. But why you ? Why not Ron, Harry or anyone else from the Order", she asked softly.

Draco looked at her and ran a hand through his hair.

"I don't know", he mumbled.

Hermione walked over to where he was sitting and pulled him up. Draco stood up and looked at her questioningly.  She smiled and slowly wrapped her arms around his waist and laid her head gently on his chest. Draco forgot how to breathe. He was so stiff that Hermione thought she'd done something wrong so she quickly pulled away and muttered an apology.

Draco pulled her back and hugged her like his life depended on it. He squeezed her and just held her. Hermione sighed. She finally felt protected and safe after three months of constant torture and rape.

After what seemed like an eternity,  Hermione pulled away. "What do we do now?", she asked. Draco's arms were still around her waist. "Now we wait for the others to arrive ".

Pansy and Blaise apparated to Draco's place and found Theo and Luna grinning at each other. Blaise looked shocked and Pansy smirked. She cleared her throat and they both jumped. Luna giggled and Theo scowled.

Blaise shook his head in disbelief and motioned them all towards the lounge. He sat next to Pansy on the love seat, Luna sat on the armchair and Theo sat on the coffee table with his legs crossed underneath himself.

"So now we know about 2 horcruxes.  But where do we find the diadem ?", he asked exasperated.

"We ask Helena Ravenclaw, of course." , Luna said in a dreamy voice.

Theo smacked his forehead.

"Um Luna. Newsflash, but Helena Ravenclaw died over a century or two ago." , he stated awkwardly.

Blaise stifled a laugh while Pansy grinned openly.

" Well of course, but that doesn't mean that we cannot speak to her.", she said dreamily.

"You mean...?", Theo asked.

"I mean that she's the ghost of the Ravenclaw Tower."

Lavender turned around at the sound of footsteps and saw Ron standing behind her. She blushed and mumbled,"Hi".

He came forward and stopped right in front of her. "Hey", he smiled.

"How are you ?", she asked.

"I've never been better", he said before his lips went crashing down on hers.

She kissed him back and just when he was about to deepen the kiss, they heard Harry calling Ron.

Ron reluctantly pulled away and whispered to her,"I missed you Lav" and with a final kiss on her temple,  he was gone.

Lucius Malfoy and Narcissa Malfoy sat at the conference table with the rest of the Order members and planned the downfall of the Dark Lord together.
