21. The vows

A/N: Guys I figured that there might be some confusion regarding Draco and Hermione's relationship. Well, when Hermione recovered, Draco took her to his place since her parents were gone now. They lived together but in separate bedrooms. They would sleep together occasionally when Hermione would ask him to stay but none of them could bring up the kiss that they shared during the war. Hermione, because she thought that he loved somebody else and Draco, because he was too afraid to bring up anything from the war. So they were basically crazily in love with each other, neither having an idea about it.

Hermione was sitting by the fireplace. The sounds that could be heard were of the crackling fire and the turning of pages. She was reading Hogwarts: A history. Obviously.

Draco had started job as a healer even though he didn't need any money. The Malfoys were so rich that even the next two generations could live without having to do work. But war changed people and it had changed him.

But that's what Hermione thought. Meanwhile in reality, Hermione Granger changed Draco Malfoy, unknowingly.

She heard the fireplace roar and come to life and her heart skipped a beat. She loved seeing him in his healer robes. It was just too......intriguing.

" Hello there.", he greeted as he dusted off the invisible soot.

" Hi", she leapt off the couch and took his robes from him. He smiled gratefully.

" Long day?", she asked.

" Very.", he yawned.

He sat on the couch lazily and sprawled his legs out.

" Should I get you something to eat?"

He shook his head and patted the seat next to her. She went and sat next to him and he just held her hand and closed his eyes.

He had just started imagining her as his bride when she spoke.

" Draco", she said softly.

Draco groaned inwardly. The way she said his name. Ugh. It just rolled off of her tongue like silk.

He kept his eyes closed and squeezed her hand, giving her a signal to continue.

" I was thinking may be if we could invite the others. Like have a party for all the newly weds and engaged."

"Who got engaged now?", he asked with a scowl on his face.

" Ron proposed to Lavender last night.", Hermione bit her lip.

" And im guessing she said yes.", he smirked.

She snorted. " How very intelligent of you Mr. Malfoy. "

Draco laughed and kissed her cheek. Hermione felt the blush rise up her cheeks so she quickly left for the washroom.

Draco sighed.
So now she doesn't even want me to kiss her on the cheeks.

He huffed and closed his eyes, once again imagining his wedding day. He was about to say his vows when he heard a knock. This time he audibly groaned and got up. Ginny Weasley was standing there.
