The end of October was coming rapidly, and I've already started making plans. I've been talking to the older Slytherins about Hogsmeade and where I should go. Apparently, Honeydukes, a candy place, was a must-see, along with the Shrieking Shack, the Three Broomsticks had amazing butterbeer, Zonko's Joke Shop was the perfect place for awesome pranks, and even the owlry was amazing.
I imagined Daphne, Tracey, and I would go explore it all together as friends again, but Daphne, apparently, wanted nothing to do with me.
"I'm sure it won't last forever," Tracey assured me
"Well, I'm pretty sure it might," I respond.
We were talking to each other at the Library, studying Red Caps for DADA.
"You know, the reason you two are like this is because of how similar you guys are," Tracey says.
"As if!" I scoff, "No one can compare to the master of the hair flip!"
Tracey snickers, which gets the librarian to come over and get onto Tracey for laughing.
"But imagine it: Me, you, and Daphne, laughing over some jokes and butterbeer and imagining ways to torment Gryffindors with dung bombs." I say once the librarian is gone "The possibilities are endless"
Tracey grins evilly. "I'm all for that."
"And then Malfoy would probably arrive and annoy me until I hex him, and probably get in trouble, and Daphne would probably make some stupid comment about me hexing my future husband or something dumb like that. Pansy would see this and get in my face for hexing Malfoy, and I would hex her too and it would all be glorious chaos, all because of my awesome hexing skills."
It takes Tracey a bit to respond.
"How long have you been thinking of that?"
"Well," I take a sarcastic moment, "About 2.67391 seconds."
We burst out into laughter again, which doesn't end until the librarian kicks us out. While walking back to the common room, we continue the conversation.
"I'm really excited to go to Hogsmeade" I sigh
"Me too, it's going to be awesome." Tracey agrees.
I think back to Daphne. Back to our predictions in Divination. I wonder when our big fight is going to happen. I hope not too soon.
Tracey can tell I'm distressed.
"What's up?" She asks
"I'm just thinking about Daphne." I trail off.
"Well, just think about something else," Tracey advises.
I try, and my mind wanders back to Hogsmeade, and then to Zonkos.
"What if we became the next Fred and George?" I ponder out loud.
"Wait, what?!" Tracey turns to me shocked.
"We could do it." I continue, "I would love to prank people back and forth. And anyway, they're awesome!"
"Yeah, but that's their thing." Tracey insists.
"I still kinda want to prank someone, definitely some of the Gryffindors. Afterall, I have a feeling this year's going to be depressing enough. A few pranks could be some fun."
Tracey sighs. "Fine."
I grin, starting a plan for the most epic week of school ever.
