It's not until I reach the solid wall that acts as the door to the common room when I remember Daphne's party. I instantly regret leaving Sirius, at least he's fun to talk to, if not a bit awkward. I take a deep breath, mutter "Serpent" (the password) and brace myself for the upcoming events.

I walk into the common room. Daphne did well on her plans for a party. There was a table lined with food and even some posters, which had been enchanted. I could tell that most of the others weren't enjoying this party as much as others, such as the annual party the 7th years have every year. Whether or not it was just Daphne, or because it was so sudden and none of them knew about it, I have no idea. The only ones who seemed to have much fun were the 1st and 2nd years.

I make my way over to Malfoy, Blaise Zabini, and Theodore Nott (Crabbe and Goyle weren't too far away). The group of them were hogging the fire.

"Hey, what's up?" I say, sitting down at the foot of the couch where Malfoy lay and Theodore sat, crouched up at the end.

"We were just discussing how stupid this party is." Malfoy complained, "I swear Crabbe and Goyle could probably plan a better one and they're stupider than the Gryffindors."

Theodore chuckled,

"Well, at least there's food." I note, "I'm probably gonna grab something to eat and head off to go work on homework or something."

"Please don't," Zabini said, pleadingly, "I need someone to keep me from going crazy."

"And anyway, shouldn't you stay and support your friend." Malfoy said, "She is your friend, right?" He added, awfully accusational.

I was about to snap back at him when he interrupted,

"Besides, she probably needs someone to tell her the reality of this crap party."

Just then, Daphne herself came around, just in time to hear the remark about the party.

"You know that sounds just like you Malfoy, the least you could do is tell it to my face." She said, the anger in her voice obvious.

"I don't have to," Malfoy sneered, "I think Aran'll do just fine."

Just then Daphne's face turned onto mine, her features contorted in pain and anger realizing that I had been sitting there.

"Of course." Daphne scoffed, "You'd think as my friend, you could've at least complained to my face instead of talking behind my back."

"I was just to leave-" I state, getting to my feet,

"Like that doesn't hurt more?" Daphne says,

"Well, I'm sorry your party is such crap." I complain, my temper rising, "It's not my problem.

Daphne scoffs, "Great, it's not your problem. It's always about you isn't it?" She says, the rest of the common room has been silenced, "You see from my point of view, you're nothing but a whiny, complaining, drama queen. I've kept up with your crap for three years now. You may see me as the bad guy, but why not think for a second that you're the bitch.

"Oh right! But you're always the one who participates in saving the school and that nonsense. Because you're so special. You're friends with Gryffindors who break the rules to save the day. You're uber powerful. You're a seer. You can turn into a fox, but no, that's not good enough for you, you have to learn how to ward off Dementors too. All because Harry frigging Potter is learning how. Cause you have to get the one up. Have you considered that maybe you're just his bitch?"

I purse my lips,

"I told you before that you're not acting the part. Because doing crap like this is what causes me to reap the consequences. Maybe it's time."
