"Never say you regret anything, because at some moment you wanted exactly that." - I'm sorry the chapter is so late. I probably hate myself more than all of you combined so it's okay.

Pic is of another couple, cuz y'all already know.

Omniscient P.O.V

Hazel's feet pounded on the concrete as she rushed toward the source of the noise. Kass was following behind her as they both stopped running, panting for breath. Kaden stood there, half his face covered in blood. Donovan put his gun away and they all stared at the body on the ground.

Elijah laid there, barely breathing. Hazel slowly kneeled down next to him and noticed that the bullet wasn't metal, but wood and it had hit him right in the heart.

His breathing was deep and his eyes were wide in panic.

"Hello love." he choked out.

Hazel looked at him, shocked. This was the same man that had kidnapped her and almost raped her and now he was lying in front of her, almost dead.

"Hazel, get away from him." Kaden growled out.

She didn't listen to him and continued to stay by Elijah. Hazel could still see a small soft spot in his eyes. It always appeared whenever he looked at her. Hazel gave a small smile and Elijah continued to stare at her in silence.

He gave a weary smile as the color drained from his face.

"I'm sorry love," he whispered, but then choked on the blood coming out of his mouth. Hazel gasped, horrified at the sight and 'sh'ed him.

"I forgive you." she muttered out and looked over his pale features.

Elijah gave out a sigh and looked back up at the night sky.

"You know, I always had a soft spot for you." he choked.

Hazel listened as he continued.

"Whenever I saw you, I just couldn't help but think 'She's a queen',"

Tears pricked at Hazel's eyes.

"You were always so, good and kind and I admired that about you and I will always have wanted you to be mine,"

"I know your heart can never be mine, but please believe me when I say I am sorry." Elijah rushed out.

He coughed again, blood pouring from his mouth.

"I believe you," Hazel whispered, tears slowly falling from her eyes.

"And if you ever see him, tell Marcus that he was always good to me and that I will forever cherish his friendship."

Hazel nodded, smiling faintly at the memory of her old friend.

Elijah struggled a smile at her before looking back up at the ceiling and giving his last breath.

Hazel slowly backed away from the body, her mouth opened in horror at what had just happened. Elijah Carson was dead and Donovan Knight had killed him next to her mate.

She felt arms wrap around hers and pull her up. The next thing Hazel knew was Kaden tightly holding her to his chest. He stroked her hair softly and slowly as she looked at Elijah's dead body.

The car ride home was silent and Donovan and Kassandra left without a goodbye. Kaden and Hazel slowly walked upstairs to their room, each of them holding their suitcase.

They both slowly unpacked, no words exchanged. Both of them were too deep in thought to speak and if they weren't too deep in thought, they wouldn't even know what to say. After they had both unpacked and showered, Hazel was laying on the bed and Kaden was scrolling through his phone with his eyebrows furrowed.

He put the phone done and looked at her.

"You went up to him when he was dying. Even though I told you to get away, you stayed,"

Hazel looked up at him and sat up as he continued to speak.

"Even after all he did to you, you still forgave him. Why?" Kaden asked.

"No one should die with unresolved guilt in their heart, regardless of whether they were bad people or not," she replied, looking down at her lap, "I believe all people are good at heart despite all I've been through."

"How? People do terrible things everyday. I killed my own parents for power, don't you dare tell me that I am good at heart." Kaden said, bitterness laced in his voice.

Hazel stayed silent and continued looking down at her lap.

"But you killed them because you thought it was right, the right thing for your pack. You had a good intention and that's why you are good at heart. Yes, you haven't done the best things, but we all let our emotions take over at some point. We all have instincts and we all make mistakes."

"I love you so fucking much."

Hazel looked over at him and noticed he was staring at her with a burning gaze. He kissed her forcefully until he broke away, both of them panting for breath. He kissed her again, but slowly. Kaden stopped when he felt Hazel starting to life up his shirt.

"You know if you keep doing that I won't be able to stop, right?" he asked.

"I know."

Kaden let the words sink in until he finally understood what they meant.

"Are you sure?"

"Yes Kaden." she breathed out.

"Okay princess." and then he kissed her and proceeded to make love to his sweet mate.

Elijah lay on the ground, dead and lifeless.

A blonde girl came up to his corpse and took out a vial filled with clear liquid. She put a view drops in his mouth and Elijah gasped for breath.

He coughed and hacked, getting the blood out of his lungs and sat up. Elijah looked at the girl next him and furrowed his eyebrows.

"Dianne?"

A small smile made it's way to Dianne's lips and she said,

"You have a lot of explaining to do about that Hazel girl, you know considering I'm your mate."
