Goodbye
I woke up in the morning with a frown on my face. The day has come for me to leave. Gladly, I leave late in the afternoon. I got up, changed, and walked into the living room.
"Mom, I'll be leaving today this afternoon."
Mother ran to me and hugged me tightly. Her eyes began to run. "Oh my darling Aurora, I'm gonna miss you!"
My eyes became watery. "Me too. Here!" I backed away and put my hands together. I exhaled and slowly parted them. A small bell with a pink bow formed. "Use this. If you ring it, I'll come down and visit you."
Mother took it slowly. She held it as if it was a treasure. "I will! Goodbye, my little girl!" She hugged me again.
I hugged her back tightly. "Goodbye, Mom." We parted and we waved before I walked out the door.
I wiped the tears that escaped my eyes and then started heading to work to find Damien, Carlos, Michael, and surprisingly Calvin all sitting at a group table.
"Good morning, princess!" Michael handed me a sheet of paper.
I blinked. I looked down and tears filled my eyes once more.
Last Day! Hope To See You Again! It said. They all signed and put little passages on it. It also had a picture of me. How did they get that picture? I gasped. Don't tell me- I looked at Michael.
"I have my ways." He smirked.
We all laughed.
"You all didn't have to do this.... How do you all know?" I held the paper close to my heart.
"Good morning to you, Aurora." Damien tipped his hat. "Calvin told us."
I looked at Calvin.
"Morning, sis! Sorry that I couldn't keep the secret but I hope you enjoy your last day!" Calvin ran to me and hugged me tightly.
I smiled.
"Sleep well?" Carlos handed me a small cup of ice cream."
My cheeks burned. "Yes, thank you." I sat in an empty chair next to Carlos.
I took a bite out of the Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream.
"When exactly do you leave?" Carlos had a sad tone.
"Late this afternoon." I looked down at my ice cream. "I'm sorry."
Everyone shook their heads.
"Don't apologize!" Damien smiled.
"Calvin told us you would be able to visit. Visit me, kay?" Michael winked.
I giggled and took another bite of ice cream.
"Don't worry, we got your back even if you're not here." Carlos smiled.
"I agree!" Calvin stood up. "Always, always!"
"Thank you all, so much." A tear managed to escape my eyes.
They all helped out with work until I was off and the day was almost ending. Time went by fast but it's okay because I will always be with them.
We all went to the beach to hang out. They decided to tell me what has happened ever since they met me.
"Courtney and I decided to break up." Damien sat down on the sand and crossed his legs. "I also planned to have a family night soon."
"That's great, Damien, I'm glad you're happy." I smiled and sat next to him.
"Me next!" Michael Sat across from Damien and grinned at himself. "I met this girl named Pauna. I think I may actually stick with her."
"Congrats! You found someone. I'm happy for you." I nodded.
"That took forever." Damien punched Michael in the arm playfully.
I then looked at Carlos. "What about you? How are you doing?" I asked.
Carlos laughed and sat beside me. "I opened up to everyone. And," He grasped one of my hands. "I found you."
"Save the lovey-doveyness for later!" Damien laughed.
"What? But it's getting good!" Michael laughed as well.
Calvin stood up and ran around. "I'm free from dad! Mother found a place and we are going to move soon!" He jumped around excitingly.
I helped these people only. They are special to me, so I'm glad I did. I'm glad I met them. I made... friends.
I then felt a tingly sensation on one of my hands. I lifted my left hand to see that I could see through it. "I guess it's time."
Everyone looked at me. Calvin burst into tears. Everyone else, I could see, held their tears in.
"So soon!?"Calvin grabbed onto me. "Don't go!"
I patted his head with my visible hand. "I have something to give you all." I put my invisible and visible hand together and exhaled. I then created four bells each with different color bows.
I handed Carlos a green one, Michael a blue one, Damien a red one, and Calvin an orange one. "If you ring these bells I will come down to see you. Not too often, though. Sometimes I won't respond. But I'll try all I can to see you all." Everyone smiled and came to me for a group hug.
A moment later my arms began to disappear. Like a human turning into a ghost.
They all said their goodbyes as I disappeared. One by one, my body parts started to fade and vanish. Carlos kissed me one last time before all of me evaporated.
I felt as if I died again except it wasn't cold and lonely. I felt warm and loved.
From above the clouds, I could see them all. Mother was depressed but she knew I was with her. She even put the bell I gave her in a glass case. When she goes outside, I grow a small maroon colored tulip in one spot. She seems to know it's me.
Damien had family nights every Saturday. He sometimes goes to my grave with Calvin and Carlos. I'm glad he is spending time with his family.
Calvin found a house near mine. He goes over to my mother sometimes to see if she is okay. Every morning, Calvin would open his bedroom window, stare up at the sky, and say good morning to me. He would also visit my grave every day.
Michael spent a lot of time with his new girlfriend Pauna. He would rarely go to my grave but he kept my bell in a special place. He hung it around his neck like a necklace. He tied something around it so it wouldn't ring when he walks. So smart of him.
Carlos did everything. He went to my grave, place new flowers, tells me he loves me every day, prays to me how he's doing, and he rung the bell every Wednesday. I would visit him always and we would share a hug, long conversation, or a passionate kiss.
I loved them all. I miss them, too. I'll always be with them no matter what.
I get to see my father and my siblings. I was happy as well. I'm truly happy to have the ability to steer people out of the darkness and into the light.
Next mission: In another world, I must visit my reincarnation named... Adira.
