Scared, she tried not to move one bit. Tried to stay absolutely still.
How could she escape without drowning in the icy water that was waiting for her underneath the thin layer of ice?
The breaking ice made it impossible for her to move. And swimming and diving weren't things she was really good at. She never really learned how to swim. Especially not in ice-cold water.
"I am scared, Will." Her little voice was filled with fear. Her words built fog in the air of this winters day.
She looked at her older brother. He was so near and yet so very far away. Carefully he tried to take a step towards her. The ice under his feet made a noise and little cracks started to build from where his foot was.
