"A game?!" she exclaimed and tried to stop her knees from shaking. They felt like they were about to give in. The ice would finally break and bury her in the cold darkness of the icy water. 

"Yes, a game." Her brother replied and smiled. He felt his cheeks move but his smile was fake. He was worried sick for his little sister. But he couldn't let her know that, could he?
How could he get her out of this situation?
"Do you trust me?" he asked breathlessly. The cold wind and the plain fear stole the air from his lungs. 

Unbelievingly Jane looked at her brother. Honestly it has to be said, that she not really trusted her brother. He was reckless most of the times when they were playing games. "No, you always play games that I don't like."
"Would I ever trick you?" Cautiously he took another step towards her; trying to find a piece of ice strong and thick enough to hold him.
