She looked him in the eye and searched for a clue that he was again tricking her. That he was making fun of her.
But she found nothing like that. 

She only saw certainty and determination. He would find a way to help her.
Jane took a deep breath and nodded. "Yes, I trust you."

A little smile appeared on Williams face. A real one this time.
There it was. His little sister trusting him without a doubt. 

He felt his heart beating even faster.
How was he going to do it? How was he going to save her? 

"Remember, when we played storks in the wheat field?" he asked suddenly and lifted one leg to make one big step towards the ice that he knew would hold him.
The first crack pierced through the ice, but it was still holding.
