Having kids was a blessing for sure, especially twins of course. But Michael and Fiona barely slept as their kids would cry every night, and the two babies were always in sync when it came to their shrill cries.
Michael and Fiona decided that it would be best to wake up and tend to the kids together instead of Fiona doing all the work. Sometimes, as they entered the babies' room, Michael's parents were already there, tending to the babies happily.
Fiona begged Vito and Carmela not to tire and to just continue their sleep whenever the babies would cry, but of course the grandparents never listened. The old couple was pleased to tend to the babies whenever they were in discomfort.
As Michael and Fiona slept out of exhaustion, in each other's arms comfortably in their silky sheet, their babies' cries found its way to echo in their rooms. Fiona moaned while Michael sighed, the two of them helping each other out of bed to tend to their little ones.
The moment Gabriel's nose took a whiff of his mother's scent, the baby immediately went silent. Evangeline's cries abruptly stopped as her father held her.
Fiona's smile grew on her rosy lips as she watched Michael pat his little girl's bum for comfort.
The moonlight that found its way in the babies' room illuminated Michael and his daughter that rested her chubby cheek on his shoulder. His black hair glowed in the moonlight as his eyes gleamed.
Suddenly a thought popped up in Fiona's mind as she looked at her daughter and her handsome man. Michael's eyes caught Fiona's staring honey orbs and chuckled at the cheeky smile on her face, "something on your mind, sweetheart?"
"I think she's already her daddy's girl." Fiona chuckled, moving closet to Michael- kissing him on the cheek and used her free hand to feel her daughter's little hair that existed on Evangeline's small and soft head, "I think she'll be crazy about you when she's older, you'll see."
"And what makes you so sure?" Michael chuckled, resting his hand on his daughter's fragile back.
"I can tell, you'll see." Fiona could hear her son slightly snore and drool on her shoulder, she gently lifted Gabriel off of herself to place him in the white crib that he shared with his twin sister.
Michael did the same and placed baby Evangeline in the crib beside her brother. Michael's arm found its way to sneak around his wife's waist, pulling her close to him. Her arm, too, sneaked around her husband's waist and the two watched their babies sleep in awe.
"Aren't they beautiful." Michael whispered in a low voice, afraid he'll wake up his two precious babies.
"They look like potatoes. All babies do. But they definitely are adorable." Michael chuckled loudly at his wife and immediately Fiona shushed him as she placed her finger over his lips.
"Shhhh, you'll wake them."
"Potatoes?" Michael chuckled again as he lowered his head towards his wife to catch her lips.
"Well it is true." Fiona giggled in the middle of their kiss and while they planned to go back to their dark and cosy room, something caught their attention.
Vito's cat sniffed the sleeping twins and gently jumped up the crib only to dive down at the babies feet and curl herself up beside them, purring loudly as her peridot eyes watched them, as if protecting them.
"Would you look at that." Michael said, somewhat fascinated as his wife was in awe.
"You know Michael, when I was pregnant, she always sniffed my belly and laid on it, purring." Fiona said as Michael gently shoved his wife out of the room and walked behind her, his hand on her hip.
"Well I guess they have someone around them all the time, now, let's go to bed." Michael said, kissing his wife on the forehead.
The moment the couple rested their heads on their silky pillows, they instantly drifted to sleep.
