CASEY

I'm really thankful for having a mother like her, even if she isn't our real mum, she loves us unconditionally. She loves us as much as she love her real son which is way too fair that I'm feeling bad for Angelo.

Mum never once let us feel that peanut is different because he's her real son, and me and Mavi was just adopted. She always made sure she loves us all the same way.

"Oh, we're here!" Mum was too excited as she pulled the car in front of the school. I laugh, she get off the car and open the door for us. Look at her, before we met her, we know someone was paid to open her doors for her and now she's opening doors for us.

"Come on, get your ass down here already." She said as she was covering peanut's face with a face mask printed with Elmo. Of course, it's not peanut's choice to have his face everywhere so mum always made sure he's unrecognizable when we're out.

"Mum, it's alright." I said the. I look at Mavi and she nodded. I look back at mum who's really excited, yet worried. I reached for our admission papers from her. "We'll be alright here." I added as I kiss her cheeks. She have done too much for us. Mavi went to kiss her too.

"But I want to check if you're in good hands." She insisted.

"Come on mum, you already did that twice!" Mavi rolled her eyes.

"We're alright here mum. You want us to have a normal life right? It's not we're ashamed of you, that will never happen but we want to have real friends...not like before those scams come near us because they know about you." I said hugging her waist.

She sigh... "Alright. Make friends and bring them at home sometime..." She said... I smile. "Wait...I made clear...friends right? Not--" Mavi cut her off.

"Mum...were 12!" She said knowing where mum's words heading. I chuckle.

"Now..go shopping. Have fun with peanut." I said giving Angelo a peck in the lips.

"Yeah but don't spend too much for is alright." Mavi told her as she hugs her... Mavi is right, mum loves spending money.

"Oi, Missy...you don't tell me that. I am working my ass to earn money to give you, my children, the best in life." She said putting Angelo back to his car seat. She's making me cry again.

"Working your ass? Mummy how can you work using your ass? I mean what work do you do by the way?" Ice breaker, perfect brother! I don't want to cry. Mum's face turned to red in embarrassment. I think she got carried away and forgot Angelo is hearing her and she didn't filter her words. Mavi and I laugh hard.

"Peanut, mum means she's working hard just by sitting her big ass all day at home." I said, well it's true, she's earning at home because of her investments.

"Shut up girls!" She said laughing too while Angelo is trying to figure out what we really mean.

"Baby boy...keep mum safe alright!" I said. Mum gives us a tight hug. I saw Mavi whispered something to Angelo and he smiled widely.

"Alright! Alright! I'll be the big boy and I'll help mumma find us daddy!" Angelo yelled which Mavi earned a pinch in her ear from mum.

"Behave alright. I'll pick you up later." She said hopping up on the car. We wait for her to move and I wave one last time.

"Coolest mum ever!" Mavi says. I smile at her.

I hooked my arm on her and we head inside the campus. It's a huge school by the way. Lots of children were having conversations and everything around the campus. We're both not used to this but I know I can cope up but I'm worried about Mavi, she's anti-social.

"I think we should ask which way we should go." She said overwhelmed by the sight of people around us.

Mum choose our outfits and I am thankful, were not overdressed or underdressed. We're just right.

She chooses a pink long sleeves blouse for me and a black denim jeans. I rolled the sleeves up to my elbow and I have a white sneakers...mum braided our hairs the same way, the only thing common for us today.

Mavi was on a black long sleeves hoodie jacket with a statement in front saying 'brave'. I smile, mum is the best, then she have a white denim jeans and a black ankle boots. Very well sister.

She's really beautiful, more than me but she just hate dressing up. She has a backpack with her things and I have a shoulder bag with me. In short, I'm a girly type of girl and she's not.

I adjusted my eyeglasses and look for anyone who can help us...we both have eyeglasses, mum ask us if we want contact lenses but since Mavi refused, I have to do the same...it's not big deal after all. We also have braces...typical teens I guess.

"Ouch!" Mavi whimpered. I look at her and her face is crumpled in pain.

"What is it?" I asked as a ball land on my feet.

"Oh, sorry..." Someone pick it up and he smirk, I think he's not sorry really.

I glared at him, he smirked even more but he's looking at Mavi who's teary eyed.

He throw a ball to my sister. "Hi, I'm Jeron." He said offering his hands in her, good luck.

Mavi just look at him and then grab my hands away. "Well done sis." I said.

We heard a loud boo-ing from everyone and as we look back Jeron was being booed by other students, he's pretty popular I guess.

"Hello girls, I believe you're the transferees... " a cute girl appears in front of us. I smiled...maybe she can help us.

"Yes we are, I'm Casey and this is my twin Mavi..." I said offering my hand to her and she accepted it with a sweet smile.

"I'm Grace..." She said. Mavi is still looking at Jeron.

"Mav..." I tug her arm and she looks at us.

"Oh hi..." She shyly greet Grace. "I'm Mavi Adkins." She said. Grace laugh a little.

"I know...Casey told me-- wait what? Adkins?" She said...Mavi and I looks at each other. "Sound familiar." She said...

"It's just that common." I said. "Well can you help us?" I asked trying to erase to her the Adkins problem.

"Sure..." She said. "By the way, don't mind that guy, he's a major bully." She said.

"Oh don't worry, he don't have count." I said kiddingly.

"Oh, were on the same class by the way." She said as we were walking to the high school department. We learned that most of children here knows each other and that most of them have this same school for elementary so they know we're transferees because we are new to their eyes.

"Great!" I said. Mavi is just quiet. I sigh... I wish she won't take Jeron seriously.

I have to talk to mum about this.
