3. The moonlight howl

"Hey Kate, you know today is the moonlight howl, right?" Lily asked Kate as they walking around searching for flowers, which they could use as head accessories. "Yeah.... That's why we're out here. To search for flowers." Lily rolled her eyes.... well right eye, because the other one was covered with her white fur bangs. Even thought it limited her She thought it was a cool style.
Kate stopped talking as soon as she noticed a dark pink flower. It looked very pretty, so she decided to put it in her hair next to her left ear. "How do I look?" She asked Lilly. Lilly gasped at her, "Wow you were right Kate! You look so gorgeous!". "Thanks!" Kate replied. They quickly left and went to the Howling Rock.
The wolves would gather on Howling Rock when there was a full moon and they would howl together, alpha and alpha, beta and beta, omega and omega. The rule was that betas could howl with omegas but alphas and omegas couldn't howl together, or it would break pack laws. They couldn't eat together either.
Humphrey was waiting for a female alpha to show up and his three friends (In my story, Salty, Shaky and Mooch are betas) were waiting for beta females to show up. "Man, we've been waiting for many minutes now..." Salty stared at the pathway trying to see if anyone was coming. However there were only couples coming and no single wolves. "Don't worry Salty, I'm sure you will finally see 'the one'." Humphrey patted his back. "Well its easy for you to say, 'cause all the girls swoon over you!" Mooch said impatiently. Humphrey took a few steps ahead and said, "Guys, guys, let me show you how this is done. The first girl that comes up the hill, she's mine!!". At that moment,  Kate walked up, with her sister Lily. She had the pink flower in her hair, and the moonlight shone on her, adding to her beauty. "Woahhhhhh, Kate is hot!!!!" Salty loudly whispered, as Kate waved her hair to shift the strands off her face. She looked like she was walking on a catwalk. Humphrey sighed as he thought in his mind, 'Kate looks really beautiful tonight... 'His tail was wagging. '.....but... Alphas and Omegas can't.... Be... Together.... 'He realized. "Umm... Guys... I'll be right back.." Humphrey turned around to move away but before he could leave, his friends stopped him. "Woah, where do you think you're going??" Salty said as he and the others blocked his way. "Uh.... "Humphrey tried to think of some excuse. "Humphrey, Kate's an omega now, and your.... An alpha.." Shaky reminded him. "Um-we're friends, okay?" Humphrey said. Mooch said, "Yeah right, just friends! End of the story!". Humphrey just sat there with them, waiting for Kate to come closer.
"Psst, Kate!! There's Humphrey with his friends.... "Lilly warned Kate. "Huh?" Kate turned her head towards her right to see the four wolves sitting on a rock. "Hey Kate!" They all said in one voice and gave her their toothy grins, showing off their sharp fangs. "Wow, you guys look good!" Kate complimented them. "And you look ho-" Mooch covered Salty's mouth before he could complete his sentence. "And you look beautiful!" Humphrey spoke from behind them. Kate blushed at his compliment. "T-Thanks, Humphrey... "She smiled shyly. "Humphrey!!!" Shaky angrily whispered to him, trying to keep it low so Kate and Lilly wouldn't hear. Humphrey whispered back, "Ugh, fine! I'll stop!". Kate knew that she and Humphrey couldn't howl together so she just put on a fake smile, trying to hide her sadness. "Come on Lilly... Let's find Hutch and Candu. They could join us for fun... "She signaled for Lilly to go. "Ok, ok.. "Lilly went up the mountain with her. "Kate? And Hutch? Together? Since when did this happen?" Humphrey asked with a little disappointment. Shaky suggested that maybe they should go up too since they wasted enough time and the howling would begin soon. So they all went up.
