2. Back at the den

Humphrey, Kate and Lilly came back to the Western pack den. In the late evening, Lilly went to hang out with Salty, Shaky and Mooch, Humphrey's friends. That left Kate alone with Humphrey. So they both had a chat for a while.
"You know, its great to see you again, Humphrey. I was kinda... missing you.... "She said, looking down at a patch of grass. "I missed you too..." Humphrey replied, smiling at her. Kate smiled back. Then Humphrey's father Winston came, "Humphrey come on. Its time for dinner!" He called out. "Coming dad!" Humphrey said, "I guess I'll chat with you later? See ya around, Kate!" Humphrey followed his dad inside the den. As usual, it was a custom in the packs to let the alphas eat first, then the betas and lastly, the omegas.
"Wow.... I can't believe he talked with me... "Kate dreamily said with a big smile. She was glad that Humphrey still didn't know about her crazy crush on him. "Hehehe... "She thought about him for a long time. "What's so funny?" Lilly said, making Kate jump. "Woah! Chill out Kate its just me! Lily!". "Phew.... You scared me... "Kate turned to look at her. "Are you dreaming about Humphrey again?" Lilly asked her, smirking. "N-no. I was.... Only thinking about the log ride we had hehehe.... " Kate tried to cover up. "Yeeeeaaah sure you were..... "Lilly smirked even wider. Kate sighed and said to Lilly, "Lilly... I don't know if Humphrey feels the same way... ". Lily felt bad for her sister. So she cheered her up, "Don't worry Kate, I'm sure he likes you back too! Well... Even if he doesn't he may someday.. ". "I hope so.... "Kate said, "Hey look! The betas have finished their meal. Now it's time for us to eat... ". "Okay let's go." Lily said. They both went with the other omegas to feast on the leftover caribou.
