I bit back a scream after noticing him in my cabin. If I couldn't even sit at a different table then surely he wasn't allowed to be in my cabin.

He introduced himself as Ethan Moore, a child of Hades. For a minute I just stared at him. His messy black hair and his somehow shining dark eyes were definitely attractive. He was well muscled, as I was beginning to see every demigod was.

He laughed again, "I know I'm handsome. No need to stare, my blue bunny."

I blushed at his comment and hid my face behind my hands. He laughed again and I heard his footsteps come closer to me. I felt his arms pick me up and I let out a small squeak and punched him weakly to try and make him let go. He put me on one of the beds in here and then backed up.

"Well isn't someone a feisty little bunny." He said with a smirk.

"Why are you here? And I'm Riley.. Riley Andrews." I mumbled. Hopefully he couldn't hear me. For some reason I couldn't be myself around him. Why was I so awkward?

"I have to go now, but a pleasure to meet you, blue bunny." He bent down over my hand and kissed it with a wink sent towards me before disappearing into the shadows and out of sight. My face burned bright with an unusual feeling.

That night I couldn't sleep. All I could think about was him. Ethan.. child of Hades. I groaned and hid my red face under my pillow. Why him? He is so... I can't even explain it. Why does he have this affect on me?

I wandered around my cabin, there was a stream of water in it. That was refreshing. It had its own bathroom and was clean, almost like it has been untouched. After a few hours of this I sighed and walked outside my cabin. I climbed onto the roof of my cabin from sheer boredom. It took a while, at least 5 minutes to find a decent starting place. By the time I got up I was sweaty and exhausted. My hands were red and had blisters. I sighed and just collapsed on the roof.

I stayed on the roof all night. My eyes were open and I was too tired to move. The sun started to rise and I saw a camper leave one of the cabins. I took that as an excuse for me to be able to leave mine, I slid down the side with much more ease than getting up. I walked to the camper and saw that it was the kid from Hephaestus cabin. What was he doing here?

I followed him from the shadows and saw him get a drink from the mess hall. I walked over to him, "Jake? Is that you?"

He jumped at the sound of my voice and spilled whatever was in his cup partly on himself and partly on the ground. "Riley? What in the name of Hades are you doing up so early?"

"I am so sorry Jake! Are you okay?"

"I'm fine, but why are you up?" He looked concerned. That's odd.

"I couldn't get sleep. I just stayed up."

His eyes narrowed. "When was the last time you got a full nights sleep?"

"Well.. I think it was two or three nights ago."

"Get some sleep." He set down his cup and grabbed my hand, leading me back to Poseidon cabin. "Is there anything you need? I'll bring it to you."

I was too shocked to really say much. Jake sighed and walked into my cabin, pushing me lightly to get me in and sitting on the bed I was using earlier. "Riley, what's wrong? Is there a reason you can't get to sleep?"

"Maybe it's just too quiet. I'm not used to having such a big place to myself." He nodded and looked down while he thought to himself. I feel bad about leaving out the Hades kid from why I couldn't sleep but I didn't want him to get in trouble.

"Here's what we could do, you could come with me to the forge and I can make something to make some noises in here. If you want, it could be something like a radio so you could talk to me, or some natural sounds of nature. That sound good?"

"Yeah.. Thank you. Why are you going through this much trouble for me?" His cheeks flushed slightly.

"It's never easy to be alone at camp. Eventually you'll get used to it, but it takes time. If you need something, just talk to me."

"Thank you Jake." I leaned in and hugged him. I was a bit shocked when he hugged me back. We just sat there hugging for a minute before he cleared his throat and let go. I followed his example and also let go. My face burned red and I started stuttering.

"I, um. I didn't mean to.. I mean, um, sorry." He laughed a little as I hid my red face in my hands.

"It's fine Riley. Let's go to the forge and see what we can do." He grabbed my hand again and led the way out of my cabin and through camp. He led me into the forge which was dark and empty. I looked around, squinting to try and make out some sort of detail.

"Welcome to the forge, now, what is it that you decided you wanted?"

"I think both of what you mentioned would help. The nature sounds and the radio thing." I honestly didn't know. But I bet I would happily use both.

He pointed to a spot I could sit in while he worked and gave me headphones to block out the noises of the forge. I sat for a while just watching but my lack of sleep was catching up with me. I tried to keep my eyes open but they were just getting heavy. I slumped down in the chair I was in and the forge became quiet and peaceful.
