3rd Person PoV
At Camp Half-Blood everything was silent. It was early in the morning and the only people awake would be cleaning harpies. There was an eerie feel to the air, as if something wasn't quite right.
An incoherent yell about some girl rang through camp.
"She's missing?"
"What do you mean she's gone?"
"But she was here last night! She can't just vanish!"
Campers crowded around the centaur, demanding to know what was happening with the new girl who wasn't here anymore.
There was one girl separated from the group, Kayla. She was unsure whether to feel mad at the girl, or worried that she was to blame for her disappearance. After all, the last time that they had talked, it had included some yelling at no happy thoughts being shared. The new friendship was falling apart.
"Now, we could make a quest to look for her. She can't be too far. Riley is new to here and doesn't know his way around. So I'd like to ask for three volunteers."
Two hands shot up almost simultaneously. Another raised after that and a few more people were murmuring on how they'd like to leave camp for a quest.
Chiron looked over the group. "Who has actually talked to Riley since she got here?"
More hands were up. Jess, Jay, Hermes cabin, Kayla, Alex, and Jake all said they have talked to her.
"Who was the last to see her?"
After some discussion between the crowd a girl with brown hair and a colored streak spoke up. "Jay and I saw her last. She was headed to her cabin after..." She trailed off and Chiron nodded knowingly.
"Jay, Jess, follow me. As well as anyone who saw her yesterday. Any clues will be helpful." Chiron started off to the Big House and a few campers followed, all of them wanting to find their new friend.
As the centaur got onto the porch, he immediately looked around for his wheelchair and slowly sat in it, hind legs first. The magic of the chair worked and he now looked like a middle aged disabled man. Kids crowded around him, less than before but still more than could fit comfortably on the porch. Chiron rolled his chair through a doorway and through the big house until he got to a room with a bunch of chairs around a ping pong table. He motioned for the campers to take a seat as he placed himself at the head of the table.
"Do you know where she is?"
"Are we going to have a quest to find her?"
"How are we going to figure this out?"
"Why would she even want to leave?"
"Does it have anything to do with those traitors?" One camper asked in a bitter tone.
"Enough. We are going to figure this out. Yes there will be a quest, three people will go after consulting the oracle. The most important thing is that Riley is safe." Chiron looked around and nodded to Jay to start talking.
"As far as we know, the last anyone saw of her was yesterday afternoon when she ran into her cabin which is now empty. The other camp may be involved. She somehow found out about it and confronted me and Jess about it. We talked to Chiron and he said she couldn't go to see it. So the best bet would be to go to Camp Blacksword and look there for Riley."
A hand raised, it was slightly burnt from work in the Hephaestus cabin. "Did anything happen earlier yesterday that might have upset her?" Jake looked slightly flustered asking about her but said it in a loud voice so that everyone could hear.
