Virgil popped up in the living room, cautiously looking around for the other sides. He found a pink sticky note from Patton informing him that he and Logan had gone out on a date. Forgetting his worries of being spotted, Virgil made his way to the kitchen, a giddy smile on his face. He dug around in the cabinet and fridge, gathering the ingredients he would need to make snickerdoodles, his favorite cookie. He measured and mixed until the cookies were in the oven. Virgil put the timer on for a half hour then looked around for something to do. He realized that, with no one home, he would be able to partake in another one of his secret hobbies: singing. All of the sides could sing, a byproduct of Thomas's own talent and his love for theatre, but Virgil had an amazing voice. Unlike his counterpart, Roman, his voice was soft and soulful. As Virgil meandered around the living room, a song came to mind. He had recently gotten obsessed with Hamilton, and was in love with the song "Helpless". He started singing the opening riff, and by the time he got to the second chorus he was belting it out. In his mind, instead of singing to an empty room in Thomas's kitchen, he was on stage singing to millions of people next to Lin-Manuel Miranda.
"Look into your eyes, and the sky's the limit, I'm helpless. Down for the count and I'm drowning in 'em..." His voice trailed off as he spotted a certain prince leaning casually against the door jamb, a smile on his lips.
"R-Roman? What are you doing here?" Virgil asked, face burning up as he began to wonder how much his crush had heard.
"In my own house?" He sarcastically drawled.
"Uh-uh..." Virgil grasped for a retort, not finding one. Roman smirked knowing he had flustered his own crush into silence, and decided to throw caution to the wind. With a devilish smile, he stepped forward, causing Virgil to take a step back. Step forward, step back. They continued the pattern until Virgil backed into the counter with a gasp. Roman closed the distance between them and slipped an arm behind his waist, leaning in close.
"You know, you're a real good singer Virgil," Roman told him.
"What are you doing?" Virgil asked softly. Roman answered the question with one of his own.
"How do you feel?" He asked gently, checking to make sure he was okay. Virgil risked a glance at Roman's lips before meeting his eyes once more.
"Helpless," he muttered, before capturing Roman's lips in a soft, sweet, kiss.
