So I read this AMAZING book called The Only Way Is Forward by insertpunhere0 . It was so good, and you guys should TOTALLY read it! It made me super happy and super sad at the same time, I cried, and I NEVER cry over books, so you know it's good.

But anyways! I loved the book so much, but I am not one for sad endings (even though it was AMAZING), and I had an idea for like, an "Epilogue" to it, so here it is! I hope you enjoy, and there will (obviously) be spoilers, so if you haven't read the book and don't want spoilers go read it! Otherwise, enjoy :)

Every second a beep sounded from the heart monitor.

Roman stared up at the immaculate white ceiling as he racked his brain for memories. Once again, four people came to mind. He knew they were important, but he couldn't remember why or who they were. As he searched deeper into his brain, he only found scraps of memories, like old photographs that hadn't been touched in years.

Robot... Tin-Man... Psychology...

Dogs... Art... Puns...

Coffee... Wedding... A Second Chance... These thoughts raced through his head, and then the last person's words rang in his head. He knew this person was the most important. He had been in love with him, he was sure of it. But just who he was in love with, escaped him.

Beep, every second.

Cookies... A Party... A Performance... And then the pain was back. Searing pain shot across Roman's skin as if it was on fire, and he suddenly was in a car. There was a bus. It was wobbling. It crashed. No one was hurt. A phone call. Someone else was hurt. Someone whom he loved desperately. But who?!

Roman thrashed in frustration at his inability to remember. The action caused him to hack and cough, and when he pulled away, there were spots of blood on his pale, wrinkled elbow. He wasn't surprised though. The blood had been coming up for the past few days, and Roman knew his time on this Earth was up. But oddly, he wasn't scared.

I truly am going crazy, he thought to himself. As he thought this, a young man opened his door and shut it behind himself quietly. He stood at the threshold awkwardly, as if he wanted to say something but didn't know what.

Beep, every second.

The guy was one of the four people Roman could still "remember".

Coffee... Wedding... A Second Chance... His mind suddenly froze. He didn't know whether it was the fact that he could practically see Death around the corner waiting to take him, or that this guy had been back consistently to tell him memories of his old life, but he remembered. He remembered. His wedding, his husband, his friends. He remembered. Curling his lips into a weak smile, Roman spoke.

"Hey Vic," he said, using a nickname that hadn't been said for months. The young man's head whipped up and his eyes widened. Roman held out an arm and Victor rushed over.

Beep, every two seconds.

"Roman? Roman..." he breathed, gripping his hand, and looking at him with such love. Roman had heard the time difference between his heartbeats, he didn't have much time. He could see the dark shadow of Death grow nearer.

"Roman, oh gosh, are you okay?"

Beep, every three seconds.

Roman looked up with glowing eyes. "I remember."

"You-you... you remember? Me? Our wedding? Our life together?" Victor asked eagerly, hoping beyond hope it was true.

"Everything," Roman said, breathing in the scent that was Victor: cinnamon and mint. A weird combination, but comforting.
