Percy Jackson / Omega Epsilon 's POV

Luke was Alpha. I had no doubt in my mind that Luke was my mate, my Marked, and the love of my life. Everything added up; the way my soul always ached when he wasn't near-by, how he reminded me so much of my past lover, his ability to sense power, how he always seemed to understand me when I said things like Dagan and Allharð Eitr...

Not to mention how his personality matched up with that of my Marked.

It seemed impossible; only twelve Earth years since I was reborn, and I had already found him without even trying. I could have spent centuries looking around the planet, but I found him the moment the war was beginning to be set in stone.

But there was a problem. Luke obviously didn't remember who he was and what he could do. He didn't remember our time together, how we met, how we fell in love... I had to be careful. If I wasn't, then I would drive him away and he wouldn't want to be near me any longer.

I was mulling over my thoughts so much, that I became distracted during training. A slash of pain jolted me back to reality, where I noticed Luke (was I supposed to call him Alpha now?) had cut me while we were in the middle of a duel.

My lips pulled back in a snarl. "I think that's enough," I snapped, lowering the unbalanced sword that they had given me. "If I am to fight, I will be using a sword that I trust."

Ignoring Luke's confusion, I placed the sword back in the rack and summoned Starlight and Havoc, swiftly placing a glamour over them so they looked like regular Celestial Bronze swords.

Before I could ask if Luke wished to restart, he called everyone together.

"Okay, everybody circle up!" Luke ordered. "If Percy doesn't mind, I want to give you a little demo."

Everyone gathered around, suppressing smiles. Luke told everyone he was going to demonstrate a disarming technique: how to twist the enemy's blade with the flat of your own sword so that he had no choice but to drop his weapon.

"This is difficult," he stressed. "It will be even harder, as Percy is not using one sword, but two. I've had it used against me. No laughing at Percy, now. Most swordsmen have to work years to mast this technique."

He demonstrated the move on me in slow motion. Sure enough, Starlight clattered out of my hand, Havoc remaining in my right.

"Now in real time," he said after I'd retrieved my weapon. "We keep sparring until one of us pulls it off. Ready, Percy?"

I nodded, preparing myself and thinking over and over, It's fine. You won't be hurting him. Everything's alright. You won't be hurting him. It will be okay...

Luke tried to slash at me, but I quickly caught him and pushed him back with Havoc. I couldn't help grinning like a madman as I dodged his thrust, parrying it with one of my own, accidentally cutting him in the process.

My grin dropped immediately. Of course, no matter how hard I tried, I always ended up hurting the one I loved.

Sighing, I pressed Starlight's blade to the base of Luke's sword and pressed down. His sword fell to the ground with a clang.

Murmuring broke out between the surrounding campers. Luke's expression was one of shock, though all I could think about was the cut that I had made.

I frowned, willing Starlight and Havoc back to the shadows, and approached my mate. I grabbed his forearm and placed my other hand over the cut, guiding a shard of my strength into him in order to heal it.
