kuanlin sat anxiously while trying to pay attention in class. however, he occasionally glanced at the empty seat at the second to last row behind him.
emily's.
it has been days since their last argument and the girl didn't show up to school today.
the bell rang and students hurried out of class to have their lunch while kuanlin didn't budge at all.
"screw it!" he hissed before running out of the class in search of his classmate, jeongin, who had exited before him.
"ya ya ya! yang jeongin! wait up!" kuanlin shouted as he saw the other boy in the crowded hallway.
"kuanlin, hey! what's up?" jeongin casually asked.
"do you know why emily is absent today?"
"em?" jeongin asked back and pondered before answering, "no but i think hyunjin hyung does."
"do you know where he is?"
"i'm on my way to meet him and the others right now! come!"
the two same-aged boys walked to the cafeteria together in silence. well, the two rarely talked anyways.
"hyunjin hyung! my friend here wants to ask you about something," jeongin said as soon as they arrive at the table where his friends were sitting at.
"oh, kuanlin, right? let's go somewhere else first," hyunjin told the younger boy as he got up from his seat and walked away to a quieter place with kuanlin trailing behind.
"emily was right, you'll be searching for her," hyunjin chuckled before handing the other boy a letter, "here."
"what's this?" kuanlin asked with his eyebrows furrowed as he accepted the letter.
"her goodbye letter for you because, boy, she left."
