after the bell rang, emily immediately packed her bags and stormed outside.

"emily! em!" a familiar voice called her.

emily looked around and saw kuanlin there, running up to her.

"em! look, i'm sorry for not eating you during lunch. i saw you with a group of boys, are you okay?"

kuanlin knows that emily was kind of traumatized by boys due to her father's behavior. so, it was weird for him to see her eating with a group of boys during lunch break.

"oh, that's fine! and i'm fine. they're just a friend of mine, don't worry," emily smiled.

kuanlin stayed silent, trying to process her words. he didn't know why when she said the group of boys are her friends, he felt a weird pain inside.

and usually, emily would break down and screamed at him for leaving her but she's fine?

"are you sure you're fine?" he asked once more.

"yep! i forgive you this time, don't worry!"

"oh, alright. wanna walk home together? where do you live now anyways?"

right, kuanlin still doesn't know where emily lives now. how would he know if this is the first time they have a conversation after her father was arrested.

"minhyun oppa's house. they're really welcoming~ anyways, i can't walk home with you, sorry. i gotta go now!"

this time, it was kuanlin's turn to be left by his 'bestfriend' as the girl run towards the gate to search for her brother leaving him in a trance at the school's hallway.
