"join my friends and i anytime if you feel lonely, okay? we'll welcome you with open arms, em."

that was what hyunjin had said last night. at first, emily thought that it's not going to be necessary for her to do that since she's planning to spend lunch time in class.

however, one of hyunjin's friend and also emily's classmate, jeongin, decided to accompany her at his hyung's command.

"hey, em. you're not eating?" he asked as he took the seat next to her.

"huh? i'm not in the mood. why are you here, jeongin?" emily asked back.

"wow, you really like shooing people away, huh? but anyways, i'm here to accompany you because hyunjin hyung said so."

"that boy gotta learn to stop being so worried about me. look, i'm fine alone, okay? so you can go back to the canteen, jeongin-ah."

"i don't want! hyunjin hyung would scold me if i come back. so, let's talk instead, okay? i know you're feeling down lately, so pour it out now to me like you used to."

when they were little, believe it or not, jeongin and emily were best friends. however, circumstances didn't allow them to interact any longer as jeongin's parents restricted him to play with her due to her dangerous father. on the other hand, emily's dad also prevented her to play with him so she could 'focus on her studies'. but that matter is all over now.

"i-i don't know, jeongin-ah. i'm just confused. my life just became a drama in one week, how would you feel if you were me?"

and from there, they began talking and spent the whole lunch break that way until the bell rang and students hurried to class one by one.
