"Shit!" I said under my breath, hopping out of bed quickly although trying to stay quiet so I wouldn't disturb Jenn, who was still asleep. I kept my eyes on my iPhone, watching for the number of the time to change.
"What's the rush?" Jenn asked as I wrestled on a pair of skinny jeans that were previously on her floor.
I sighed and turned my tee shirt inside out, "I have to pick up Jack at the airport and I'm already late."
"That's today?"
I hesitated a little before answering, "Yeah, that's today."
Jenn looked down to the foot of the bed where her bra was and I had put my Vans a minute ago, then she looked back to me.
"I'm sorry to dip out on you so quickly." I said.
Jenn smiled, "I understand."
"Let's hang out later," I suggested, "Do you wanna come and see Jack?"
She nodded, "Sounds like fun."
"I gotta run," I told her, heading for the door and grabbing my phone on the way, "I'll text you."
"Welcome to LA, dude." Jc said to Jack as we all hopped into my car near the luggage check at LAX.
Jack smiled, "This is gonna be an awesome few weeks."
"Tonight we figured that we would have like a welcome dinner." I told him.
"The guys, Rebecca, Matt Espinosa, Nash, Sawyer Hartman, Tyler Oakley, some of the Brits." Jc listed.
"Oh, and I invited Jenn." I told the both of them.
Jack hesitated before worriedly asking, "Jenn?"
I nodded.
"Y'all are friends, aren't you?" Jc asked.
Jack nodded and looked at his lap, "Yeah, yeah, we totally are."
Jc nodded, "Well, we're good then."
"So, how is North Carolina?" I asked in an attempt to change the obviously awkward conversation to a new topic.
